I actually tried really hard on this. (i'm definitely not done yet, I simply want feedback).
original image: retouch (this is for a layout, that is why some areas are b+w and anne and the flowers are colored): --all feedback welcome. I've gotten really attached to this, I want it to be perfect. ------------------------»//EDIT//: i like how it came out. her skin DEFINITELY looks better now. not bad for your first try at skin retouching, but there's that part by her ear that makes it look weird. maybe it'll be better if you darken that area just a bit so it blends in better. ah. I found it. Somehow a blueish color was speared in by her ear. I fixed it AND darkened it. |

I like it overall, but her skin looks a bit weird in color and texture, idk, it might be just me, but ehh.
Maybe lighten the area around her dress, it looks kind of like it's just fading into the bottom of the picture. overall, gj. |

i like how it came out. her skin DEFINITELY looks better now. not bad for your first try at skin retouching, but there's that part by her ear that makes it look weird. maybe it'll be better if you darken that area just a bit so it blends in better. like if you look at the original, that area is very dark. try to incorporate that into your retouch. but of course, make it look better.
the photo quality looks better too. great job. |

I like that you enhanced the color of her dress. Is this a capture from that period movie she did? I digress. I also like how you enhanced her lip color.
In your first retouch, her skin looks flat because you blurred it a lot. You fixed that a bit with your second retouch because there are shadows on her face which adds realism because light hits a subject in a certain way. Faces have contours yada yada yada But, if you look at her jawline for example, in the original pic, it looks natural. But, you blurred out the neck area so her neck and jaw look wider and less natural. This was improved with the second retouch. You blurred out the lower portion of her ear but I can see you brought it back with the second. I don't altogether like the new skin color. I would adjust it. I would consider removing that little bump on her neck. I prefer her hair color in the original but that's just me. The best way to retouch skin is D&B although I still occasionally cheat and use some mild blurring. If you are going to use filters/blurring try to incorporate some of the original skin texture so skin looks real and not overblurred. D&B is more time-consuming but the results are well worth it! ITA with aaayotiffany, the quality does look better. Just looking at her dress, there's a significant difference. |

i agree, the skin does look a little too flat, but i do like this, such as the enhanced colour of her dress.
