I'm doing a skydive next weekend! I'm really up for it; it's something I've wanted to do for a loooooong time, and it's a charity thing as well, so you know, karma!

Has anyone ever done one, and was it as amazing as it looks?

Also, in a broader question, what kind of stuff have you all done to raise money for charity?

Oh my god, I have never sky dived and I never will! I am so afraid of heights. At the Del Mar Fair, I was freaking out on the Ferris wheel laugh.gif

Hot diggity, that's something I've always planned on doing once I'm able to grow a pair sufficiently large enough.

What's a skydive like, Tamacracker? I've always wondered if your stomach gets left behind like on a rollarcoaster or if you adjust to the feeling.

Awh, I want to go skydiving. It looks like fun, although I doubt I ever will with my fear of heights. xD Unless, of course, someone went with me. One strapped in front so they could die first, and one in the back so its nice and cushion-y.

I've done a fast for X amount of time to raise money for the hungry. Generally, it's 30 hours, but sometimes I do more just to bring in more.

Have fun skydiving :D

Well one thing's for sure, wear goggles if you plan to clearly see the beautiful curvature of the earth and the terrain below. On top of that, your stomach gets a lil tight because of the immense pressure, specially when the pressure starts to change mid-way down. The only thing that could hurt or feels a tad uncomfortable is when you pull the shute and your body jerks really hard, but it's nearly instant. Other than that... just enjoy the whole scenery, take big breaths and enjoy the clean ass oxygen before you reach the ground :D

^ You made me think of bungee jumping for some reason. I think that'd be worse than skydiving. I'd jump and all I'd be hearing in my head (besides my screaming, of course) would be *snap* and I'd panic.
