Brandon doesn't know anything about overseas soldiers.

You're right. I'm not a Soldier, nor do I work with the Army. I can pass on information about Marines and green-side Sailors, though

Hey Steven, I think you spelled "Marines" wrong. It's M-A-R-I-N-E-S, not S-O-L-D-I-E-R-S. Just in case you didn't catch that. Just returning the favor :]

What the hell... what does it matter... soldier is a person enlisted into the military. A militant.. it doesn't matter if they're a Marine or not... they're still a soldier.

The one time my friend and I called my ex's dad a soldier, he only had to remind us once: Marines and Sailors are not Soldiers. Soldiers come from the Army. Ever call a Marine a soldier, you might as well sign the death certificate yourself.

Wrong again. You were in the military? You said you were. Hmm, I no longer believe you.

Let's break this down, shall we?

Marine Corps - Marine
Navy - Sailor
Army - Soldier
Air Force - Airman

Simple enough?

Wait... soldier is just when someone is dressed out in military fatigues. That's when they're in combat mode. Either way they're a soldier. You should address them 'Marine, Sailor etc.. when they're dressed into their proper uniform.

Ok, Tama just go to your nearest friendly Marine Corps base and try your luck at calling one of the Marines there a soldier. I'll pray for you. thumbsup.gif

Negative. It doesn't work like that. You're distinguished based on the branch in which you serve. In a Marine Corps utility uniform, I'm still a Marine. If a Sailor, who is a Corpsman (Navy medical, works with Marines), is in combat utilities, he's still a Sailor.

I have a long line of scarlet and gold in veins. Growing up, I wouldn't dare get it confused, or I got popped in the mouth. Tama, maybe you should get popped in the mouth. Don't worry, it builds character.

Hm... I see, I only spent 4 years in the NAVY. (Enlisted right after Bush took over presidency)

Well then you're an idiot. And I believe the blanket term for people fighting in all four branches is "troops."

See.. name calling. Then you bust my balls because of it. And yes troops is the proper term, I was taught to believe that so was soldier when they're in military fatigue/ combat mode.

Then someone wanted you to get your ass kicked by teaching you that.

Edit://
Actually, I don't have a hard time believing that someone wanted you to get your ass kicked so badly they taught you to call a marine a soldier.

The fake one?

Tisk tisk, this thread has really gone askew. I do believe this would be considered spam. But that's just me.

No I don't care but don't bitch about spamming if you're going to spam too.

Eeeeenteresting.

Where did you get the notion that all servicemen in combat utilities were Soldiers, though? That was some bad guidance.

So next time spam ensues, why not just split it from the topic and the conversation can continue there ^.~
