..such as sex hormones and drugs to treat mental illnesses and dozens of others in our very own drinking water.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080309/ap_on_...s/pharmawater_i

if you read that article and your worried. i suggest you start buying aquafina bottled waters cuz they're the only company i know that use reverse osmosis purification..i read one of their articles a while back saying their state of the art purifacation system removes many things that might be in other waters..i suspect they might have known about those traces of drugs in the water before this article.

it would only make sense that the drugs we take get left over in trace amounts.

poland spring also uses reverse osmosis.

Shit like this only makes me wanna move to Montenegro or Morocco. Effin government droppin some brain washin chemicals into our water.

I bet those pharmaceuticals are all psychotic type drugs. Like LSD... Give small amounts of LSD to someone everyday and add a lil media to their lives, and you got yourself a full blown follower/sheep. A non-dependent lol

And for the slow ones like me who had no clue what that was:

Gentrification- The transformation of neighborhoods from low value to high value. This change has the potential to cause displacement of long-time residents and businesses. Gentrification is a housing, economic, and health issue that affects a community’s history and culture and reduces social capital....

Yar basically killin off the poor who can't afford bottled water by poisoning the faucet water. Thus kill a generation or two of the poor/lower class. Gentrification can be considered indirectly or directly.

hey, you paranoid dumbasses, we do this to ourselves by consuming drugs in the first place, unless you seriously belive the government's secretly pouring this shit into our water on purpose, in which case it'd be a stupid waste of time 'cause the amount of trace chemicals in tap water are minute. they might as well put truckloads if they wanna kill you off that way.

you guys are making it the same conspiracy hype as having fluoride in tap water.

They're not purposely doing it. Well some people actually need prescription meds cuz they're actaully sick ya know. And this isn't one chemical, this is numbers possibly dozens of different drugs in our water that react with each other.

Yeah but I don't even take tylenol... and wouldn't having to drink the same water over a period of time start to actually harm your body?...

You should smell Florida's tap water, smells like chlorine.

of course i'm aware that consumation of prescribed drugs is important. duh, i'm one of the people contributing to this "problem" since i take allergy meds and analgesics often. women perhaps contribute the higher percentage 'cause of unmetabolized birth control pills. my point is that we (as a species) are responsible for this, and it's highly unplausable that this is a government conspiracy to poison its own people -_-".

the beauty of water is that it's a natural universal solvent. it would take decades, or even centuries for the water to be dangerously saturated with the amount of drugs we're disposing of currently. short term, we'll be fine. it's a long term problem. it's been a long term concern for years now, especially in europe. i don't understand why it's suddenly big news, when the industry has known about this and should have done something about it a long time ago.

then again, i could understand the delay in research, due to the complexity that is organic chemistry. i'm sure the water purifying companies have actively been trying to come up with a solution, or at the very least, proposals.

Well we technically do need population control, whether people agree to it or not.
