National Student Leadership Conference in Washington, DC.

I just recently got invited to attend. I'm excited, but I'm not. Especially after seeing that tuition costs about $3000 including the deposit and what-not.

Has anyone ever been to this conference? Can you tell me what it was like? Is 2000 bucks really worth going? I'm also trying to apply for the scholarship. If anyone ever had experience or knows how much the scholarship is, can you please tell me?

Thank youu.

Uh... I'm assuming that's basically for future scholars, presidents, senators etc... it's for very highly educated people who have the potential to become leaders in the government especially.

If that's the case... lol $3000 is chump change for this, that'll probably cover half the books you'd need.

i didn't get an invite but i know some people who did. yeah that's an expensive camp, but it looks really good. but there are a lot of other conferences across the nation that i may or may not be going to, cheaper, etc, closer to your home.

i get that every year. a lot of people i know get that every year, too, but that's almost the only sort of people i hang around with nowadays.

i know a couple people that have went and it really doesn't seem like anything special. plenty of people get into excellent colleges and universities without attending nslc... it's not exactly a necessity.

well i talked to some people today about it and did a bit of research around. because these are such big organizations that nearly anyone can get into, they're not as prestigious and therefore colleges could care less if you went to nslc or not. people just say that it's a good way to spend more time with new people and make friends rather than prepare you for your future. it's a ton of money, just for what i mentioned, but some say it's worth it and others say no. i mean, when you think about it, these are actually profited companies just trying to suck up your $$$. i know a couple people who may/are considering going and it does look like a lot of fun. but there are also other organizations that send out tons of invites - so this is not the only one. there's nothing too special about this, that's pretty much it.
