have your parents
commented on your
taste in music?

do they like it?
or loathe it?

my mom
always says
how "...back in
in the day
children were
more..." because
they didnt
listen to stuff
like this.

My parents..
really hate my
music sometimes
and sometimes they do not..
Whenever I listen to Asian music
they don't mind because they're Asian
haha.
But when I listen
to stuff like rock and anything they consider 'loud'
I'm told to
shut off my music.

Yeah. :D

my dad hates it when i listen to rap/r&b/hip hop, because he's really racist. every time i listen to anything else, especially metal, he doesn't care, because he was a metal head.

I like to listen to Rammstein on occasion, which my parents refer to as "barking german dog music". I don't think they're a fan...

^ Uhh, get it used to it buddy. Two things: It's the internet and it's called sarcasm. thumbsup.gif

My mom can't drive, so I have to drive her where ever she goes, and she deals with my music. Granted, I don't play metal when she's in my car, just out of respect for her. But she listens to rock and has no problem. There are even times that I let her listen to country and I deal with it ('cause I hate country).

Sarah, my mom liked Rammstein, but once I told her what the lyrics mean she decided she didn't want to listen to something like that, lol.

I only play my music when my mom isn't home, but we listen to see the same type of soul and things of that nature. When I visit my dad, I can't play rock at all, as they are all into rap and shit. ROCK FOR THE MOTHER f**kING WIN!

As you get older, they tend not to care (at all) anymore.
From the time i turned 14 they really just stopped caring what i listened to.

Its just one more irrelevant thing you have to deal with, the less problems you have with your kid the better.

happy.gif

My mom and dad like all kinds of music so growing up i was exposed to things like reggae and acid jazz. there was a variety of things i listend to (when i didnt drive) with them, now when im home i barely listen to music.

My parents never cared about what music I listened to, except now when my mom returned to Christianity, they're still cool with my music, except for Death Metal. Love blasting out some good ol Lamb Of God.

My mom likes some of my music. I listen to too much music for her to like it all. But she's likes Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and such. It's pretty cool. I know most kids can't say that about their parents.

My parents are stuck in the 70's-80's. Anything made from 2000 onwards is silly and weird and shouldn't be called music, according to them. So basically all the stuff I love = epic fail.

What scarred me for life was when we were in the car, and Lil Jon's Get Low came on, and my mom said "Oh, turn it up." and proceeded to sing along to "TO DA WINDOWWWW. TO DA WALL TO DA WALL!" Movement and all.

Not really, they don't really mind what music I play because they're rarely home 99.99% of the time. And when they are home, I don't blast my music so it doesn't bother them. :D. They actually sometimes use some of my Chinese music and they listen to it in their cars. XD.gif. It's kind of weird having your parents listen to the same music as you e____e. My parents have a huge dislike for Rap and Rock, so I try to not play it when they are around, but when they leave, *switches playlist* shifty.gif

I remember I was listening to Eminem one time in the car with my dad, and he totally flipped out. He asked me if I understood a word Eminem was saying, and then yelled at me for all the swearing when I said I did.
... I think he just hates all rap music.

My mom, on the other hand, doesn't really say much. I know she hated it when I used listened to Korean music, because she thought it was stupid (I don't understand Korean). But that's pretty much it.
