My family always tells me some weird stuff saying that 7UP helps heal you up when you're sick and putting ginger on your stomach (or head) will stop pains at those areas. My parents tell me to take a hot shower too so that the bacteria and dirt can leave my body because of the hot temperatures from the shower. Oh! And also all these types of soup that my family makes that is suppose to make you more "beautiful" and for you to have good health. My ass!

My mom used to always give me "flat" Sprite when I got sick when I was younger.Or if I had a headache, she'd give me a wet rag/washcloth to put on my forehead.

Now, if I get sick, she tells me to stay away from her so she doesn't catch it. _dry.gif

I just use bananas for muscle cramps, and ginger ale for motion sickness.

My grandmother was old, old school.

Headaches - inhaling the steam of boiled apple cider vinegar and honey
Damaged hair - mayonnaise treatment (I REALLY hated that one)
Sunburns - plain yogurt (rub on the sunburn, let it sit for a bit then rinse off) or avocados but she hated wasting those.
Hiccups - smell black pepper (although this would generally make me sneeze or laugh (sometimes as a byproduct of sneezing)

I'm sure there's more, but those are off the top of my head.

Is it me, or do black people think that Ginger Ale can cure everything.
