My dad this morning was on the internet and got one of those pop ups that automatically installl onto the computer. I uninstalled some of the programs but there are still "POP UP" things running in the task bar area and I can't get rid of them and I can't find them on the PC.

PLEASE HELP! cry.gif

can you take a screenshot of it?

if you have vista, you can use windows defender to check your pc for trojans/viruses/blahblah. you can also restore to an earlier time before it got infected.

=\

You got adware...

If you try to do a system restore, make sure you go into safe mode first, then do a system restore.

Tell your father to stop watching porn -.-

if you wanna try to prevent it from happening again while your dad is using your pc, go to your windows security center, and make sure everything's turned on, including "internet security" and "malware protection", which should activate windows defender and your antivirus (if you have one).

vista is set up so that a window pops up FOR EVER LITTLE THING that happens to your pc (installations/downloads/etc). a lot of times, though, people just click on "yes" or "ok" without reading what it says, which is what my parents do. let your dad know that those are legit warnings, and to be careful about installing anything by accident.

Erm... it's "douche"

Right the company's website gave him adware as he applied lol

If you would be so kind, can you please give us the domain name (url/website) to where he applied at. You know, just so we're aware?

It's happened to me before too... but I exited out of it very quickly and it didn't time to install. I have Windows XP Pro and I have anti-spy and virus protection and a firewall. Mine doesn't have the maleware atleast I don't think so I've never seen on the computer.
Thanks for your help! happy.gif

Listen I don't have time for scrum bags like you. Why don't you go do something useful and go blow yourself up some more.

Well I just got off work that night and I work 3-11. My computer doesn't crash and I'm a nurse so I'm done with school kid!

Get a life instead of complaining about people's spelling errors.
