How do you think Fidel Castro's resignation will affect Cuba? Bush already said that the US will begin strengthening ties with the country and bring "democracy' to the table, but seriously, let's be realistic? Does anyone smell conflict or a military coup brewing?

Brother's taking over, he might give more money to the people for their labor... but it'll be Communism as always.
We (Americans) need to back off. We don't need to fight the Cuban people's war. They want a revolution, they need to fight for it. |

His brother will be in power, he'll still have influence, and it'll be the same shit as always.

Just because Raul is in power, doesn't mean he's gonig to follow his brother's doctrine of leadership. Raul is about his paper. Cuba's econonmy is in shambles right now.

We just create more of an issue because such a high level country is getting involved. |

according to bush it's gonna begin a period of democratic transition. he says we're gonna help the people of cuba realize the blessings of liberty.
i don't think that much is going to change as long as castro is still alive. everyone who has any say so or importance was put there by castro in the first place, i can't see them changing that much as long as he's still around. his brother isn't officially in power is he? i thought no one was officially appointed yet, it's just likely that his brother will take over. which still, we've already has his brother running things for the last year or so. he does appear to be a bit more flexible though. |

Castro never failed in building a nation.
people often overlook the positives like the well developed healthcare system and the security for the extremely poor. The United Nation conducted a study about 3 months ago and concluded that Cuba does the BEST job in the world feeding its citizens. NO ONE, NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON, STARVES TO DEATH IN CUBA =D. |

Technically speaking, there's no such thing as a bum in Cuba, (yes serious) |
