I think this is a problem the human society will never overcome.
No matter what, we're in danger. And yet, lack of civil liberties will only result to mass protest. Mass protests lead to things beyond simple arguments.

One race/religion/sex or simply on kind of a person, will always have something to say about another. We were always in danger of something even before 9/11. Yet for some reason, after 9/11, airport security suddenly got stronger. There was always a threat of somebody hijacking a plane. So, as a result, it takes us longer to get through checking at the airport. Not sure if this is some sort of civil liberty, but its somewhere along those lines. So, if you are asking: Will stronger security weaken the chances of another 9/11? Then my answer would be, of course. But the con to this is more angry people. And angry people doesnt sound that bad until they completely block the entrance to the airport, then what?

Well, this has been a question that has been discussed for ages now, especially ever since 9/11. I don't blame anyone for trying to increase the security in order to keep us safe. I know that what the government is trying to do is just trying to keep everyone together. Security should be strengthened of course. You cannot deny that, after 9/11, the U.S. felt extremely vulnerable. We've been considering ourselves a superpower all this time (in fact, we still are), and all of a sudden BOOM incoming terrorist attack. So in my opinion, it's pretty logical to reinforce security.

Yes, sometimes it's extremely ridiculous, all those checkpoints and everything, and yea it can be pretty obvious we're not suspicious or dangerous people and yet they're still checking us out. But I guess that if you worked for the government, especially in a higher position, this type of security would mean a lot to you. So I don't think this is really taking away our liberties so much. People can protest, but what are they gonna say when people get hurt and die the second time around?

but i do agree with the philosophy that says we must give up some freedoms to have protection, but lately, the government infringes upon our rights for the most ridiculous reasons. and i almost fell like i don't have a say.

So many Americans are stupid. They watch the news and media and assume that's a good way to live their life, or they just listen to what their old fashioned parents say and spew that out whenever anyone challenges their ability to think for themselves. So many people don't think for themselves and don't hear both sides of the story (come a big debate). That or they think it's a better idea to worry about appeasing everyone else instead of worrying about our own issues.
