This is long overdue. I know for a fact that there are a few BBoys on the forum. And with all this recent talk about Kaba Modern and how "amazing" they are(n't), I decided to make a thread, paying homage to those who battle or just do it for a fun.
One of the most well known crews in the history of breakin' is the Rock Steady Crew. http://youtube.com/watch?v=jzbEntSOLjs Old school, right? Those Nike Vandals are on point, though. Throughout the years, breakin' has gone international. Just check out how Korea gets down. The Gambler Crew http://youtube.com/watch?v=SpCaLvkaoe8 Or, my personal favorite, Mortal Combat from Japan... http://youtube.com/watch?v=gQbc7gL-d5Q&feature=related Don't worry fellow poplockers, wavers and goodlockers; I didn't leave us out... Pop'N'Taco (antagonist in Breakin', former choreographer for Michael Jackson and N'Sync!) http://youtube.com/watch?v=pMucEVpsl4Y http://youtube.com/watch?v=QmlrAIJri9M&feature=related Poppin' Pete No intro needed... http://youtube.com/watch?v=r3liwaFbCLE&feature=related |

nyc breakers ftw.
i've been a fan of ken swift & rock steady since high school. also full circle, and i had the pleasure of being in the presence of rockafella while she was teaching a beginner's class. haven't really been keeping track of any of them or their performances ever since college though. as for korean poppers, i find them very fluid. my fav would have to be nam hyun joon, but that's only 'cause he's the only one i bothered to look up and watch. i like his mall walk. & about kaba modern, i been watching their shit for a while now 'cause a friend of a friend was a major fan. yah i understand they're not that great, but compared to the rest of the groups on the show, i think they're the best technical dancers (but that is also arguable, since the 6 that are on the show are pretty much only good at isos). even so, they're my fav. on the show. |

Kaba Modern are good, but not absolutely amazing, but they are good. |
