what exactly do you mean how?
the slice tools cuts up your image, which is useful for high-quality pictures, overlays, and image mapping/rollovers. you just click and drag. to save slices go to file>>save for web. |

There are plenty of tutorials that you can find on google for image slicing.
As for the pen tool, you can refer to this tutorial or this one. You need a lot of patience with the pen tool; just practice and keep a steady hand on your mouse. |
