Gun man at NIU kills 5 people.
story It's crazy because I know people who go there and I get this text from my cousin saying "the uni is being shot up." I'm like what the hell? Then my brother got 5 saying the same thing. This just blew me. |

Ever since VT went down, people are really beginning to take notice of the lack of security on college campuses. There was a shooting that happened off campus at University of Texas-San Antonio when I attended. It didn't get a lot of media coverage. No one really said a thing about it. I've been strapped with a heater before on campus because, even though people pursue their education, shit can still happen.
Its really sad. |

It's so sad that school shootings are all too familiar nowadays. I'm a resident advisor at one of the dorms on my campus and we just had to send out messages to students if they needed to talk to anyone about this.
Just so sad. |

My friend goes to NIU, thankfully he wasn't hurt. His friend was shot, and her boyfriend was killed.
