my question which specs am i better off with?

should i get 2.0 ghz or is 1.6/.4 good enough for maybe games like gunbound(prolly not) but i dont intend on it being a gaming notebook.Just a laptop for college that wouldnt be slow if i decide to want to play maybe.

and core two duo (1.6/2mb/800mhz) how differnt is that frome just 2.0ghz/800mhz? faster... but what else

how much should i look for the price to increase with these adjustments?

^haha, wtf?

Hm, I`m not too good with the specifics but I recently got a HP laptop. Haha, And i don`t know the specs of it either. Crap.

The prices range. Obviously, the higher the memory, for example, the more expensive. Usually it`s like 50+ dollars. Probably more.

Gah, i`m not sure. If only i worked at best buy. mellow.gif

There are pros and cons to each, so it kind of balances out. The 2nd is obviously higher priced, making it slightly better, however, you did mention it was refurbished unlike the first. For the 2nd one, it has Windows XP Pro, but if you're only using the computer for leisure use, Windows XP Home is actually fine enough. Both of them have 120GB hard drives, which I don't agree with too much. There are tons of new models out there that have at least 160-200+ GB hard drives.

Oh, and I haven't heard of that brand either. Just suggesting, but perhaps a better name brand might run better?

Dells aren't bad. I actually have a Inspiron E1705, I've never had a problem with it.

I've heard a few good things about the vostro's. I wouldn't say their a bad laptop, but go read the reviews of them on dell.com. I wouldn't suggest buying the new inspiron the 15.4in ones...they have really bad reviews.

and by specs, I would choose the second one.

2 gigs of ram is the standard today, so if you want to play any modern computer game, you will need it.

also, dual core is the way to go, and the way to go dual core is with Intel Core 2 Duo.

The harddrives are SATA, which is good, but you should try getting 7000 RPM or higher. I'm not sure what the exact value is, and if they have it for laptop harddrives, but look around.

I don't know anything about laptop video cards, but I have a geforce for my desktop.
