i freaking hate this game where people put up a general away message and you know they are talking about you.... stubborn.gif

If you are one of these people, please grow up and say it to their face, or atleast have the decency to im them please.

Have you guys every experienced this?

Ah I hate those. My friend does that all the time. She'll type the first letter of people's names and start talking about them or to them through her away message. Small messages like three words are cool with me, but when it tarts getting into the paragraph size you might of just IMed the person. They act like you won't read it, and they want everyone to know your business.

I have a friend who did that with her boyfriend. She basically had her own fight with herself and the away message for about an hour. Freaking ridiculous.

gosh some people are childish and psycho at the same time.

Oh, yeah, I hate these petty, indirect games of, "I'm angry with you, but I won't really tell it to your face." Same with this whole MySpace top friends issue. It's not to be taken seriously, it's a space in which you can waste time.

laugh.gif Girls have a tendency to use that "other friend I know" excuse. That would be the hint to me that she was lying. If only they'd understand it's better to just say it than bring the whole world into business that is not theirs.

What, you mean like, "Don't you love it when your friends betray you?" as the entire body of the message, not telling you why they're away?

Or like "I'm not here right now, but if you happen to be reading this, you a-hole, you were supposed to call me three hours ago."

Hmm. I actually never noticed it. Usually away messages have song lyrics in technicolor, in my experience.

I, however, am one of the annoying people who leaves the computer for hours and never puts up an away message. ;)

Sucks when people can't just tell you that they have an issue though. I tell ya, being direct is becoming more and more passé.

Nope I am usually nice to people (or try to be) so if there was a message that was directed toward me it would probably be something kind back.

" ______: You're a freakin retard. I hate you guts. Don't you dare IM me again because you're stupid and you need to die"

I know a lot of people that pull stuff like that. Pretty much its like anonymous shout outs in an away message. pinch.gif

If I'm saying something about someone else in those messages, it's usually on a positive note. But for other people? It's a guessing game!

what a way to pass the time.

the only reason i'd ever communicate to someone via away message would be something along the lines of "josh, call me when you get back" and that's too much for me anyway... i mean, hell, there's nothing wrong with leaving the other person a message of your own if you're so desperate.

Snaps. I do this all the time. I also treat my away messages like a blog. Today:

allison******: dear sally:
you talked to me today. shouldn't that be enough to make your day?
love,
allison

PS: do your homework.

Auto response from salcha4u: january 22, 2008
dear away message;
today must have been the boringest day of my life. i woke up at 8AM and was still early to school for my first day as a second semester senior. my schedule sucks cause all my friends and i got separated )': so i feel like a loner in my first two periods. thats bad, cause if i dont have someone to talk to, i might fall asleep. then i went to work and that was freaking boring. then i came home and im still freaking bored and i really need to find something productive to do other than playing 4 hours of facebook tetris and snake.

IM BORED!!!!!!!

I always set my MSN messenger status to away - even when I'm not. It keeps the noobs from harrassing me and anyone that knows me well never bothers with the status check. If my music's playing, I'm in front of the screen.

I've had positive away messages dedicated to me, lol.

Erm, but my best friend's friend was broken up with through an away message a few years ago. Her friend's boyfriend was like, "You know we're over, right?" in his away message. LAME. LAME. LAME.

Oh! I know a girl who broke up with her boyfriend via myspace bulletin. It was something along the lines of, "f**k you for being an a-hole. I'm dumping you right here, right now." rofl1.gif
Sally, that's adorable. XD.gif

I leave song lyrics to confuse people. One time, my friend thought I was slitting my wrists when I put up the emo song.

I mean, if it is a spouse thing, or a sibling thing that is something different. When you are trying to come at somebody else, that is just plain wrong. I also hate when people act like punks and use the facebook status as a way to do it.

It's not even about confronting others. The fact that people have to go so far as to acknowledge and share your bullshit with your entire contact list is annoying. I hate it when people do it with me; especially on MSN with its "personal status."

It'd be all, "Sally-You're not as good of a friend as I thought."

Shut. The. Hell. Up.

That shit is outdated, to me. I'm a die-hard fan of Windows Live. Anyway, it's a personal status thing that resembles the Facebook status. You type in whatever you want, except people choose to use it to pour their feelings out via text. Women.

Your choice. AIM is and looks ghetto as hell. All of my friends decided they wanted to use Windows Live, so I made the switch, and then everyone I knew abandoned AIM. Apparently, for cB members, it's a different story.

Windoes Live Messnger is altogether greater. Better smileys, better skins, you can use emoticons, the webcam feature actually works, as AIM's webcam feature sucks and always crashes. Let's see, you can update your status all the time, you can have it show what music you are Now Playing. There's a whole bunch more that makes Windows Live Messenger superior to AIM.

I was never a fan of AIM 6.0 and above.

I kept to my AIM 5.1 because it was more stable and simpler. But I still prefer MSN over AIM.
