That's a heck of a nice start. Bravo!!!
I'm running 1,024 x 768 resolution on my main PC, and I see what you mean. Here's the possible culprit (somebody else please check me. I've been up 19 hours straight) CODE <style type="text/css"> .Main { position:absolute; left:50%; top:0px; width:800px; z-index:1; margin-left:-473px; padding:0px; border:0px; background-color:transparent;} </style> You are setting the main DIV of your page to 800 pixels. You have defined your DIV correctly in that left is set @ 50%. However, if you want the div to be centered, you'd want half on each side, n'est pas? Your margin-left attribute is set to -473 pixels. The amount of the DIV appearing on the left side of the center is disproportionate to that on the right side. Try setting margin-left to -400px. You'll have 50% on each side, so no matter what resolution your viewer has set their monitor to, the middle line being drawn, it should be balanced. Good luck, and welcome. Keep it up!!!! |

One last thing, just an FYI. Myspace gets very cranky when you cover their ad. I know, I know, it messes up the whole page design (and I feel your pain here!). But that's what keeps the site free.
You will want to move your main DIV down so it doesn't cover the ad. Either that, or use one of the scripts that will relocate the add to the bottom of the page. If you drop the .main top value down, say about 150px the ad will appear. Since everything else is contained within the main DIV, and the coding is relative to the top of that DIV already, you won't have to recode anything else. |

Wow, that's weird. When I loaded it the first few times in Firefox, the ad wasn't coming up. It's coming up about 75% of the time I refresh it. There's a known issue with myspace and the ad sometimes vanishing....myspace coding sometimes embeds the ad in different places. When I loaded it the first time in IE, it came up.
Have you cleared out your cookies and temp files on your browser? If you're using IE, the page will sometimes load locally, and not from the web. Something about that main DIV still doesn't seem right. If it's 800 px wide, and the left margin is set to -473, then you only have 317px worth displaying on the right side of the vertical middle. /shrug. Somebody else will have to look at this. Sorry I haven't been more help :( |

You use a lot of position: absolute - try to use position: relative when coupling left:50% and margin-left:-350px together.
I will get around to checking this in more detail tonight if you haven't found any of the responses here have solved your problem. |

Okay, I've been working on this in all resolutions and think I've cracked it.
What I've done is to absolutely position your main image using left and margin-left properties and then converted the content to a relative position (as you don't want an absolute for these - 20px to the left absolute will remain 20px left on ALL resolutions) using just left and top properties. The table navigation was the trickiest, but that's relatively positioned again and should work in all resolutions. (TBH, image mapping this would be much easier on you!) I've left the comment table for you to try (just follow what I did for the other content sections) as it doesn't look too badly aligned anyway. So, that all gives us: CODE <body>
<div id="layer1" style="position:absolute; width:200px; height:115px; z-index:1; left: 50%;margin-left:-475px; top: 0;"> <img src="http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/4223/sappyg5.jpg" width="950" height="2140" border="0"></div> <div id="Layer2" style="position:relative; width:200px; height:152px; z-index:2; left: 261px; top: -160px;"> <table width="200" height="131" border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1"> <tr> <td height="23"><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vY29sbGVjdC5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVzZWFjdGlvbj1pbnZpdGUuYWRkZnJpZW5kX3ZlcmlmeSZmcmllbmRJRD0xNTY0MzE0MDQ="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="198" height="25" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="23"><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vbWVzc2FnaW5nLm15c3BhY2UuY29tL2luZGV4LmNmbT9mdXNlYWN0aW9uPW1haWwubWVz 2FnZSZmcmllbmRJRD0xNTY0MzE0MDQmTXlUb2tlbj1iY2FkMjUyMC1lMWQ1LTRjZjktOGJhNC0xMzQ0O MzYmE5MDA="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="198" height="25" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vdmlld21vcmVwaWNzLm15c3BhY2UuY29tL2luZGV4LmNmbT9mdXNlYWN0aW9uPXVzZXIu mlld0FsYnVtcyZmcmllbmRJRD0xNTY0MzE0MDQ="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="198" height="25" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vYmxvZy5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVzZWFjdGlvbj1ibG9nLkxpc3RBbGwmZnJpZW5kSUQ9MTU2NDMxNDA0"><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="198" height="25" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vY29sbGVjdC5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVzZWFjdGlvbj1ibG9jay5ibG9ja1VzZXImdXNlcklEPTE1NjQzMTQwNA=="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="198" height="25" border="0"></a></td> </tr> </table> </div> <div id="Layer3" style="position:relative; width:123px; height:95px; z-index:3; left: -326px; top: -235px;"><table width="137" height="97" border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1"> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vZ3JvdXBzLm15c3BhY2UuY29tL2luZGV4LmNmbT9mdXNlYWN0aW9uPWdyb3Vwcy5hZGR0 2dyb3VwJmZyaWVuZElEPTE1NjQzMTQwNA=="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="140" height="19" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vY29sbGVjdC5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVzZWFjdGlvbj11c2VyLmFkZFRvRmF2b3JpdGUmZnJpZW5kSUQ9MTU2NDMxNDA0JnB1YmxpYz0w"><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="140" height="19" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vbWVzc2FnaW5nLm15c3BhY2UuY29tL2luZGV4LmNmbT9mdXNlYWN0aW9uPW1haWwuZm9y 2FyZCZmcmllbmRJRD0xNTY0MzE0MDQmZj1mb3J3YXJkcHJvZmlsZQ=="><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="140" height="19" border="0"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vY29sbGVjdC5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVzZWFjdGlvbj1SYXRlSW1hZ2UuVXNlclJhdGluZyZVc2VySUQ9MTU2NDMxNDA0"><img src="http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4521/blanklf2.gif" width="140" height="19" border="0"></a></td> </tr> </table> </div> <div id="Layer4" class="style1" style="position:relative; width:322px; height:346px; z-index:4; left: -350px; top: 154px; overflow: auto;"> <p align="justify"> <font face="Tahoma"><font color= "white"><br> A passionate Orator and Biblical teacher who desires to be a living Epistle glorifying our lord and Saviour Jesus Christ both in word and in deed.
