Have you guys ever tried putting bits of Ramen (before being boiled in water) in your salad instead of croutons?
I went to this restaurant the other day and ordered an oriental salad and they had bits of Ramen in it and it was amazing. I kind of put it on top of everything now. |

When I was younger I would open the bag, pour the flavor stuff in, and shake it. They taste kinda like chips. It's really good but if you eat too much you will get a tummy ache.

I wouldn't have thought of that without reading this thread. I'll have to try that sometime.

I used to do that all the time when I was younger. It was so good. But I'm definitely going to have to try that ramen-crouton substitute. It sounds really good. Croutons are getting olllld. ![]() |

Hm. Interesting idea. But are you sure its ramen? They also have like cracker noodle shaped pieces of flavored ramen flavored stuff that they sell in those small 5 bag chain things.

I'm going to try this today. We're having salad with dinner! But I'll keep my croutons handy.

I love using crunchy ramen in asian type salads. The one I'm thinking of is basically done with shredded cabbage (I typically use a cole slaw mix bag), mandarin orange slices (from a can), a sesame dressing, almonds and crunchy (uncooked) ramen noodles. Oh and green onions.

I have friends who eat raw ramen. Or they take spaghetti noodles and put them under hot water and eat them crunchy. I never got into the uncooked noodles thing.

I can imagine it's only good on certain types of salads. I'm not a big fan of croutons, but I'm a fan of fried noodles when it's in a bowl of spring mix, tiny mandarin slices, black beans, tomatoes, chicken slices, and topped off with raspberry vinaigrette.

I believe they have these at Pizza Hut. I don't think it's ramen though, but it's some type of crunchy noodles.

Well, ramen isn't exactly "raw." when it comes in the bag, it's already been deep fried, which is why it has flavor and is super-bad for you. |

I don't know about them actually being ramen bits, but yea I've had salads with wonton strips and some other noodle strips. The noodle bits seems to be more rounder and thicker and ramen.. Maybe like somewhere in between the size of udon and the size of ramen. Haha :P
MMMM I had some spicy ramen earlier. It was instant ramen, but it was from a bag. One of those bigger korean ones, since one bag has two servings. |

Sometimes I'll see people walking around just eating ramen out of the package. It doesn't work for me though.

When I'm feeling lazy I just pour the seasoning onto a plate, tear the noodle square into strips then dip them into the seasoning. I can't eat a whole square though b/c it hurts my tummy. :[

There is this Ramen snack thing; it's not real Ramen where you can eat noodles, but an actual snack. It's in the form before you make Ramen, though. Anyways, you would break it into a few pieces and then put a seasoning (that they provde) on it. It's really good ![]() |
