there's
CODE
display:none;
display:inline;

^ works for all web browsers

CODE
display:inline-block;

^ doesn't work in IE 5.5 or FF

CODE
display:list-item;

^ doesn't work in IE 5.5

CODE
display:run-in;

^ doesn't work in IE 5.5, 6, 7 or FF or iCab

CODE
display:compact;

^ barely works in Safari, Opera , iCab, Konqueror

CODE
display:table;

^ only works well in FF, Opera, Konqueror

the default is display:inline; so it doesn't make any difference if you put it in the code.
