Do you mean deleting others' posts in the thread you made for your club?

If so, the answer is you don't. It's freedom of speech and there isn't anything you can do about that. You can, however, delete your own posts.

I'm not going to say I think we should delete the negative posts in his topic, but honestly.. isn't member bashing against the rules? I'm pretty sure there are more than a few jokes that were out of line, and the word f*g should never have entered the discussion.

So, no, I don't think the posts should be deleted, but I don't think nothing should have been done, either.

I don't really get while you need a support forum for yourself..

I don't get the "support" part. You have said you already came out, so the topic obviously isn't for people to support your coming out. What, are we supporting your life?

And I am not hating against you or anything. I don't care if you are gay. You knew that some people wouldn't except you, yet you still made a forum for yourself. It just seems to me like you are trying to project your sexuality to the whole forum, and then getting mad when they react. Somemone being gay has nothing to do with a graphics forum.

That's just my opinin.

I don't think the OP was talking about an entire forum - there's a thread in the lounge that I think is being referred to.

^ And while that is valid, it doesn't jsutify people being rude to the extent that it violates the community guidelines. Also, that was pretty much just a critique of the original topic, and wasn't really too helpful for answering their actua question.

(not adressed to you, Dani)

I know that he meant his thread/topic. But he refered to it as a forum.

Thread, Topic and Forum all kinda mean the same thing.

Anyways, ibn regards of his question... He has been at the forums for long enough to know who the admin and mods are (or how to find them). He probably also knows about the "Report This Post" button. He has been here long enough to know who to talk to about

So.. Instead of posting a topic and attracting attention to the hatefullness of others, you should have contacted a staff member: Mesage the Head of Staff

I never said I agreed with what the people said. I think it is awful when people bring other people down.

But apparently being patronizing is just fine...

Eh.

Still, yeah, question has been answered, really. If the OP wants the topic as a whole closed or whatever, he/she can contact a member of staff, otherwise, the posts stay...

Who's to say that he didn't contact a staff member?

Basically, while member bashing shouldn't be tolerated, deleting posts that you do not approve of or like shouldn't be tolerated either.

I think that the wording of "deleteing posts on my SUPPORT forum that shows hate against the SUPPORT?" isn't the best way of putting it. Who decides what is considered strong enough to be considered "hate"? If someone is continually bashing you or trolling your thread, that's a different subject entirely.

He just wants it closed because the majority didn't necessarily agree with him. Sure some comments were inappropriate and the such, but if he's been going through this all his life, including badgering for being gay or w/e, then this should be no problem. No one's telling him it's wrong to be gay, that he's f**ked up for being gay, etc etc, rather people are asking him if he knows what he's talking about, or why gays should need rights separate from straights.
