Mondays @ 9 P.M. on TLC

So, I came across this show about 5 hours ago and I'm still watching it. Its a marathon, I suppose and its called John and Kate plus 8. Its basically a show that shows what parents of 8 kids (2 Twin girls (6) and sextuplets (3)) have to go through everyday. They're wasian babies, which I think is absolutely adorable. thumbsup.gif Here's some visual for you guys:

(Joel and Leah are my absolute favs.) throb.gif

I'm not entirely sure if this is there original site, but for more information: http://www.sixgosselins.com/Photos.php

Its currently airing on the TLC channel if you want to catch it, go go go!

Have any of you guys watched this?

I saw some episodes the past few months.

Its really interesting, and the kids are really adorable. My mom thinks they are so cute. Wasians are really hot/cute when they grow up, Lol. Theres a couple wasians at my school.

Being a parent of 8 seems very chaotic yet fun. I want to raise as much as that! xD

I watched 6 hours of the marathon yesterday. The kids are too cute. I couldn't stop watching it. Then I kept asking everyone around me what they would do if they had eight kids.

I, for some odd reason, hate this show. I can't stand it. To me, the kids are always going crazy, but that's just kids. The dad just sits back and really lets the mom take over, and the mom in turn is bitchy/mean to the people around her.

blame it on my awful days in daycare, but that's just me.

I don't think you've seen enough episodes. I've seen almost all of them, and while Jon is sort of confused most of the time, he tries his hardest to help Kate. Kate's just a Type-A personality and is an absolute perfectionist, and tends to get impatient with Jon and the people around her. You might call that bitchy, but I can't expect any less from a woman who takes care of all those kids. Honestly, my mom is worse.

Watching them, they seem like they work really well together (editing tends to overexaggerate things), and I think anything short of amazing teamwork would be impossible with a family of twins and sextuplets.

They're all so big -- this show is so nostalgic for me. cry.gif

I missed the new episode today, thanks to the game _dry.gif, but I watched the episodes leading up to the new episode. Joel is so big, asking questions left and right! Next thing you know, they're gonna be full-blown teenagers, wrecking havoc for Kate. Poor Kate, haha.

Eh, half? He doesn't look it, although I agree with ms-jojo -- Jon does have pretty eyes. I've always wondered if they were contacts or not.

I didn't know he had a tattoo, either. Damn, I watch this so religiously and I'm missing so much of it. Why does TLC have it on such an irregular schedule. :(

I had previously seen most of the episodes, but there were a few that I hadn't -- like the zoo and the crayon factory, and of course the new memorial day one. :)

I am absolutely in love with this show!
The sextuplets are getting big, now, and they're just getting more and more adorable.
My favorites are Leah and Aaden.

I kinda have a bone to pick with Mady.
She always seems so bratty, even in public.
But I'm sure she'll get over it.

And Jon's reactions to Kate when she's being "grouchy" are priceless.

yeah they've been rather bratty in the last couple of episodes... but they could be worse & i think Jon & Kate (even though they have their hands full) are doing a good job handling their little outbursts.

^^ Yeah, TLC puts on marathons of the show almost all the time.
But Monday nights are the best time to catch them.

Brattiness may be a phase, but there's always a chance of that brattiness carrying over into teenagehood.
Maybe it's a difference in parenting preferences [or rather, exposure to different types of parenting].

I do admire Jon and Kate for managing to provide their kids with some awesome opportunities [Disneyland, the Utah ski trip, etc.]
At least they're not like the Duggars.

I don't know... from what I can see, I really doubt Jon and Kate would allow the kids to stay bratty. I think they're just kind of letting it slide for now because it's expected of them (the twins) to be annoying and attention-seeking. Jon and Kate seem to be quite strict when it comes to attitude, so I don't think the kids being brats when they're older will be a factor.

And weren't the trips pretty much paid for them by sponsors?

^^ Oh yeah, that's true.
But not the kids' invidual days.

I think only the Utah trip was sponsored.

What ever happened to the Duggar family and their documentaries?
I'm surprised they never turned into a series.

My favorite one was Aaden's visit to the farm.

Aaden: "I can't see sheep!"
Jon: "You can't see what?"
Aaden: "Sheep!"
Jon: "Oh, okay. I thought there was a 't' at the end of that word."

Hee hee

Yeah, to say that you hate some kids on a reality show is just low.

And also, Cara and Hannah are like the sweetest kids ever. Maddy can be a bitch sometimes but what little girl isn't? I've seen plenty of girls who have a worse attitude in smaller families. At least you can tell that Maddy truly loves her siblings.

You know what other thing I love? Leah asking Jon, "Why do little girls have little boops?" LOL that was so cute! <33

I like this show, its pretty cool.

I don't like the fact that they say if they can take 8 kids on a vacation then you can deal with your kids, yet they have friends and a whole crew to help them keep things in order.

I'm a little uncomfortable at how much they seem to depend on other people for help.
Like Aunt Jodi. She seems to babysit them a lot, but Jon and Kate have never taken in any of Jodi's kids in return.
I understand that they are busy and they may need an extra pair of hands from time to time, but the favors seem like unreturned favors for the most part.

Except for the time they went Christmas caroling.
That was nice.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

They're lucky they got a group of well behaved kids, though. shrug.gif They could've turned out to be the worst bunch ever!

I'm sure Jon and Kate return favours in their own way. Taking in another child is not a productive, nor a safe way to return such a favour. They already have 8 to worry about.

^^ Oh yeah, that's true.
But not the kids' invidual days.

I think only the Utah trip was sponsored.

The Duggars do have a series, I was watching it the other day because it was on after Jon & Kate. It's called "17 Kids & Counting." It premiered just this past monday. It wasn't that good from what I remember... ermm.gif

I watched the episode yesterday. Aaden was SO cute. "What's that?" and she explains to him what the steamer did. And like 5 minutes later he asks again LOL! What a cutie.

I love how the kids are so sweet to everybody - like giving random people on the crew hugs. They're such sweet kids.

I watched the Duggars after J&K+8 and I HATE THEM. What the f**k was with their oldest son? They needed a freakin' chaperone with them on a date? And he asked his mom if it was okay to hold her hand...wtf?! I just don't get them.

I know, and he already PROPOSED to her too. And she was wearing the SAME SHIRT as her mom.

I realize that that is a seemingly small detail, but it's vital information. What normal girl in America would allow herself to go out of the house wearing the same shirt as her mother?! It was honestly the most awkward proposal EVER.

I met up with my parents for dim sum once, and ended up wearing the same thing as my mom (but in a different colour). You have no idea how embarrassed I felt. I think I wore my jacket the entire time.

^ LOL, oh man, I know how you feel. Having the same bag as 3 other girls in my school is hard enough but I refuse to change it! mad.gif

Well, I ended up only being able to catch the first 10 minutes of it. They already started shooting pictures for Halloween. xD

If me and my mom come out of our rooms wearing the same colour, even if it's an entirely different shirt, we'll both cringe and one of us will change, without fail. Let alone an identical shirt!!

I don't really mind so much if I have the same bag/clothing as other people on the street or at school or whatever. It's just my mom. LOL

Well, you can really blame the kids. They didn't really ASK to be in the spotlight. :/ Now that I think about it, I guess they are getting most of their money from the sponsers and the shows. But Jon still works.
