Hey Everyone,

The community guidelines have been updated with the following rules:
Making Multiple Accounts:

Creating multiple accounts without permission is NOT allowed. Depending on the severity of the situation, anyone who is caught doing this will receive punishment, which may include raised warning level, mod preview, disabled posting, or a banned account. All duplicate accounts will immediately be disabled.

Posting Pictures
If found posting pictures of other memebers in order to demean them, the image will be removed and you will have an increased warning and if needed put on mod preview.

A separate post should be give to explain spam. You can also find these definitions in the Forum Rules in the Lounge.
Spam is/are:
Spam in the Resource Center:
  • Anything not pertaining or contributing to the topic (i.e., "South Park is the bestest show ever, no?" in a topic about, say, Myspace codes)
  • Chatting --> Some is tolerated but personal conversations and chatspeak is in no way allowed. Use the chatroom. That's what it's there for.
  • Posting the same topic in more than one forum. Accidents happen but it's spam if it's done repeatedly. There is a place for everything.
  • N.B. It is fine if one or two word posts are made in response to yes or no questions but don't do this for the sake of being annoying.
Spam in the Community Center:
  • Anything not pertaining or contributing to the topic (i.e., "South Park is the bestest show ever, no?" in a topic about, say, Myspace codes)
  • Chatting --> Some is tolerated but personal conversations and chatspeak is in no way allowed. Use the chatroom. That's what it's there for.
  • Blatant ignorance of forum/topic rules (i.e., Member Photos: there's a rule that you must thumb pictures that stretch out the forums, and if you keep doing it after you're warned, it is considered spam, or warning-worthy)
  • Repetitive posts (i.e., in Introductions, copying and pasting "Welcome to cB, and enjoy your stay!" for each thread)
  • Posting the same topic in more than one forum. Accidents happen but it's spam if it's done repeatedly. There is a place for everything.
  • Double-posting --> Wait until someone makes a new post after yours before you make a reply in that same topic. If you wish to add on to your previous post, use the Edit link at the bottom of your reply.
Any rules and guidelines posted separately from the community guidelines (ie: pinned topics) are included as well.

Also please keep in mind that the By-laws have been removed.

Any questions please leave them here.

Any multiple accounts made from this day on will have the punishment above.

Although if you are causing havoc or abusing your other accounts they will be deleted.

personally i think that we should give the multiple account users a choice of which one account they'd like to keep and then delete the rest. (unless they have a good reason to have a second or third account) We're not exactly punishing them for breaking a rule that we just created - we're just making everything conform to the guidelines.

Tung quit the member bashing and the spamming around. Next time found making fun of other memebers or saying things that are offensive you will receive warnings.

Seriously replies guys, and Trish I understand that we could do that but its just going to be a big hassle for others at this point. I think if their smart enough then they will only use the other accounts for the right reasons and for now they know that if the abuse those other accounts their going to be deleted and they will receive a warning.

Tung, if you want your other posts from your other account added, sure. Although I need ever other account you have and I'm going through the posts, and if their all spam in the wrong forums you will not have the posts added.

Just like how Jeanna been sucking on her momma's titties for money, and can't argue for shit in the Money, Money, Money thread, she has to suck on the superiors titties. I don't know about you, but do you realize there are much more bashing in the Cute/Hot Girl thread, and Member's photos, than me alone? Don't target me, because I'm an easy target to pick on. Alright thank you Tung for being the bigger person.

Trish, because to search all the names and then to delete them is by far time consuming. If others really feel the need that they need their accounts deleted because they can't possibly help themselves from signing in on them, then fine. Leave all your multiple user names here and I'll be more than happy to delete the accounts.

how about instead of taking action when they "abuse" their secondary accounts, we take action if we catch them using them at all from this point on?

basically, no ones allowed to post on any secondary accounts if they dont have a good reason to have those accounts in the first place.

Any posts, Why would someone need a secondary account when they can just post on their original account?

As I said, if any of you seriously need your accounts deleted because you can't help yourself from signing in on them then I'll be more than happy to delete them.

most of the time people get on their secondary accounts to post what you would complain as being pointless topics in the lounge, so you should really be happy.

we arent prohibiting secondary accounts; we're just asking for a good reason to have one.

with this whole rating thing, we were trying to give the OM's another perk. Since the staff and the members seem to never be in agreement about what's spam and what isn't spam, we thought it would be best to leave it up to the community (or rather, the official members) from now on.

i see no reason why anyone should be complaining about it.

Sorry if that's what you think :]

Another reason would be because it's hard to enforce other/older rules on members who have multiple accounts. Should they get warnings on all three or four of their accounts, or just the account used in the action?

An easy way to avoid this is to prohibit the use of multiple accounts all together.

Actually there is a rule in either terms of service or the old community guidelines about using multiple accounts as a way to circumvent suspensions, bans, or warnings - which is (most of the time) why people make the acconts. so they can spam and shit while their primary accounts are out of the crossfire.

so we didnt pull it out of our collective ass.

And I care because it's not like users with multiple accounts never post in the resource center forums. there have been plenty of examples where multiple account users HAVE posted in the showcase booth or elsewhere in the RC.

So why should I be punished for the actions of others? Who says that I'm going to get suspended and use another account to get around it? Not everyone commits the same crime. It should only be for those with a warning. The end.

I believe I stated that some users use multiple accounts as a way to PREVENT from getting their primary accounts suspended or warned.

You aren't being punished... if you have a good reason to use a second account, then we certainly won't stop you from creating one.

There are many forums on the internet that basically automatically reject registrations if the IP or email address has been used on an existing account.

This really isnt that bad. I still don't know why you bother complaining about it.

Spencer, I'm really sorry that you find all these changes to be negative. We only have the best intentions for createblog as a whole. We aren't keeping you away from doing your normal routine on createblog.

None of these rules are going to be changed, I'm sorry if that makes any of you upset in any way shape or form but their not being changed. They have been discussed for a while now between the staff and everyone that posted said they looked fine, and I asked for their opinions or any opposing thoughts and nothing was said to that extent.

Multiple accounts has been a problem for a while, their not needed if their only going to cause problems. Hey if you want another account and have a good reason for it, then contact a mod and tell them. Simple as pie. If they think your reasoning is good then you can make your other account.

Why do people think that involving someone's mom is means of getting personal? You can talk about how you fucked my mom alllllllll day and I still won't care.

Okay :]

Edit://
Honestly I don't care. If you want answers to legitimate quetions, I'm obligated to be here for you. If you want to start shit for the hell of it, then who am I (specifically) to say "Hey, cut that shit out?" I've started as much shit as you in my day, so I'm no one to speak. But don't think I'm going to keep my mouth shut either.

Thank you ever so kindly, Holly. The betterment of cB is a sure deal with you on the homefront.

With that, I do believe I'm already entitled to one free account because Elba said I could.

Cheers.

GAAAHHH!! Things are becoming way too strict around here. I've never been a fan about this new multiple account thing but it seems like most mods are so, we'll see?
Getting banned for creating another account? I don't just get it.

I guess Jeanna went to the superiors and ratted me out huh? How lame. I'm not going to snitch on other people who been constantly bashing other people, because I don't play that game. Fine, I'll take the fall for EVERYONE for member bashing the past two weeks. Kay. End.

It's apparent we should worry more about attendance than 3 people using multiple accounts.

read and replied. i wont discuss this with you here anymore. two posts where the last one seems like you've submitted to the idea at least temporarily isnt exactly being totally vocal about your opinion.

Good. Let it be resolved backstage. But you should know that in those 2 posts (as you say), I clearly stated I wasn't up for the whole multiple accounts thing.

Actually, I don't care about having multiple accounts or not. If you read the last few pages, it's actually Spencer who's apparently against it. My first post was if they were to delete multiple accounts, can those posts be transfer over to the main account. Holly answered with a yes, if the posts from the 2nd accounts aren't spam. I did also say why should 2-3 people affect the community, but I'm just putting an input out there for people to think about. That's all. Whatever happens, happens. I nor agree, or disagree.

understood, and i hope ur other posts aren't spam and holly can add them the count. i think that sounds like a fair compromise.

i don't think the community in general is very effected by this new rule though, or at least i can't see how, not negatively at least.

2 or 3 people should effect the community because it's called learning from our mistakes... preventing a bad thing from happening again.

how that's not totally obvious is beyond me.

How it's not obvious that you are totally pulling the same things Suzzette pulled are totally beyond me as well, but I guess that's part of the learning process you guys happen to be going through.

how is this in any shape or form like what suzzette did? this was a collective decision. we listened to everyones opinion. we respect yours. but there IS an overwhelming majority of members (remember that you are the only one other than sandra voicing your disapproval of the new rules) who complained about multiple account users and pointless topics.

and josh has reminded me that it was more than 3 people abusing their multiple accounts.

refer to the other thread.

Rule, Trish. Disapproval of the new rule. I don't think it's the end of the world, but I don't see how lenient it is. Ah whatever.

how is it not lenient? if you WANT a multiple account, you can ASK for it.

let me repeat myself. MOST other forums prevent you from creating multiple accounts if at the time of your registration, your IP or email address matches an existing account's.

at least we're giving you a CHANCE.

cB ISN'T most of the other forums! It's cB! I remember people giving me a hard time for closing ONE topic yet choose to make a rule about multiple accounts?

sandra, if you have anything else to say, say it backstage. the things i want to say to you have references to other backstage threads.

I definitely must have missed that part. Besides, offering another solution would just include not letting it happen as opposed to letting it happen. There's nothing that could be changed; either you can make a new account without being punished or you can't. Please, could you name the other alternatives?
