Hey everyone out there~!
I've run into a little bit of a dilemma, I'm the kind of girl who enjoys wearing tanks with a polo and I practically worship jeans. I wear a skirt every now and again, but a dress is as rare as dinosaurs walking the earth. Now, I have a boyfriend who loves the way I am, but I'm sure he'd love it a little more if I could "dress up" in a way that was more feminine. I know, it sounds a little far-fetched, a girl who doesn't know how to be a girl? I'm sure there are girls like me out there, so I'm hoping that any kind of input will help me out. =] So here's where you all come in! I'm looking for easy ways to look a little more girly. Anything from the things I wear or the way I look. I have long black hair with natural brown highlights in it and it goes down to about mid-back. I don't wear make-up at all and I don't own any, but I have worn it before. I like to wear darker colors like blue and gray. I'm part Hawaiian, so I'm pretty tan year-round. I know for a fact that pastel colors don't work for me at all but things like patterns sound like something easy to work with. Anyway, that's what I'm here for, to ask you all to give me some kind of input. Anything will work and I'm open to your opinions! =] -=Sami |

wear your hair down often and pick up some accessories like necklaces, bracelets, and rings.. hats and scarves too because it's colder now.
pick up some mascara and a gloss or two in neutral or pink. |

My youngest sister is a tom boy, she's even got a mohawk.
![]() But a little bit of makeup, cute shoes, and styling your hair could really work wonders. Maybe get a hair cut to frame your face and style it all flippy like. I always thought that was really girly looking. |

Put some curls in your hair. Because you like jeans so much. Wear some jeans like this Click here. Get some nice jeans that fit your figure well. Buy some nice fitted shirts like this Click here. Look through that whole site. You can be cute and comfortable. I shop there myself. Oh the name of the store is Wet seal.

Haha sounds like me. I'm starting to wear eyeshadow (knit by Ulta) and mascara.
I rarely wear makeup, but I really like 'knit'. Its a good color for brown eyes. You could also straighten your hair, though that may take a long while because your hair is so long. Like MissFit said, styling your hair really makes a difference. |

some eyeliner, and mascara might be good.
don't go all out with the blush and eyeshadow. shop for more formfitting shirts. jeans aren't bad, because skirts and dresses can be really uncomfortable sometimes. |

I agree with everyone else. Get your hair nicely styled and experiment a bit with make-up. A lot of my tomboy friends think that make-up is paint and takes forever. It's amazing, though, what some mascara or eyeliner can do. Try glosses, marcasara, eyeliner (don't poke yourself), and some blush. I don't consider myself a tomboy and I don't wear skirts of dresses. Just get some stylish jeans and look for more stylish tops.

What all of the above said, as long as you don't go overboard on the makeup.
Also, I don't know what you look like, but if you plan to use foundation to cover blemishes, do it in natural lighting and perhaps have an honest friend around you for reinforcement. While you're experimenting with makeup, even, pick a friend that will tell you what looks good, and what doesn't. |
