I have two "files" right now. Home, and index. I made home first so I thought that would be the page that would show up when you type in the actual site address like: mysitenamehere.bravehost.com
but when i type that in, it goes to index (the second file i made) instead of home. WHY is it doing this?! How can I fix this? =(

That is because index.html is the default "home page." The index is your home page. Best way to "fix" this is to move your home page content to you index.html file.
