So I searched for this topic and interestingly did not find one. You would think someone would have made it already. Hm.

What'd you get on your testssss?

I just upped my SAT score from 2050 to 2130! Wooooo! But I only got a 29 on my ACT.

Ohhhh, Lord.

I have to take the ACTs in eight hours and six minutes, and it was only thirty one minutes ago that I realized this.

Yay.

Kaycee, why are you worried? ACT is easyyyyy. Do not stress. Just walk in there and be like, "Wassap ACT, I'm about to own you."

QUOTE(ThomasC @ Oct 27 2007, 12:58 AM) *
Well for my first time I got a lousy 1300. I do have a lot to improve on.

I havn't taken the ACT yet...

High school GPA is rising, with the addition of the first marking period it's now up to a 3.7

On the new one or the old one?...

I took mine over two years ago, and the grading scale has changed since then, obviously. I got a 1370 on SAT I, which is pretty good. My classmates and I compared scores, and mine was definitely above average in comparison. I did well on my SAT IIs too. I got a 790 in writing, which is 10 points less than perfect. ;)

laugh.gif So I read that right before I left for the test, and during break I randomly remembered to look at the test booklet and be like "Suckaaaaaa" xD

So the English was so easy it was boring but the Science Reasoning was death. Just...death. I did it all wrong! I tried to understand the material - no, no, no. Just read the graphs, woman! Geezus. -.-

What year are you, Thomas?

AGREED. I could have gotten a 30 (or higher) without the science section. I totally ran out of time and didn't even get half of those problems...
The English and Math were soooooooooo easy though :/

Ah, forgot to post it, but BOMBED on the Subject Tests. LMAO. Rly, the Reasoning is so beautiful - it requires so little studying compared to the Subject Tets. *sigh*

I sucked on my Subject Tests too. I don't know how they figure the percentiles out, but if that's true, the people that take Subject Tests are freaking geniuses. I got a 660 on the Math 2 and a 680 on the Lit...54th and 72nd percentiles respectively. Suckage.

It's 36. My ACT score was pitiful because I guessed on the whole science section. I'd have done well otherwise...but it was a pain in the ass, and I didn't feel like bothering.

What advantage do the subject tests give?

Some schools require them. But what I didn't know until it was far too late is that some schools will give you credit for them, depending on your score, and I think they're generally much easier than AP tests. Probably way less expensive, too; I really regret not taking any now, seeing as I did miserably on most of my APs.

You never know! I only got a 162 on my PSAT and then got much, much higher than my expected range on the real SAT.

I thought the Subject Tests were hella hard and I didn't do that well on them. I got a 680 on the Lit (72nd percentile) and a 660 on the Math Level 2 (54th percentile!). Yeah...those kind of sucked.

national merit was 215 this year. i made a 203.. i was so mad!
for practice psat's at my college prep places, 217 was my average score... what a let down. ermm.gif

our school's gifted program had us take the sat when we were in 7th grade (so that would be the old sat). i think i made like a 1100 or something :/ i felt so dumb...

it sucks when your older brother had the same college prep program, never went to any classes, and gets a 224 on the psat... and misses three questions on the sat. i want his genes! :(

Is a 175 on the PSAT ok for a junior? That would be a 1750 on the SAT (or around there)

I swear math will be the death of me. My reading was a 65 and my writing was a 63. Math was not so good whistling.gif

Actually, I think there's a topic like this already since I distinctly remember reporting my scores last year.

Not that it really matters now, but 2170 on SATs, 224 on PSAT, and 32 on ACT. My mom wanted me to retake the SATs but I told her to bugger off, lol.

Scores and grades are overrated. And easy to lie about.

1610 on my SAT,

These tests and show no proof that your are a reliable worker and can handle teamwork. People can have high GPAs and SAT scores but they can be ineffective at work.

Some people I have seen think that since they got a 2000+ plus on their SAT, they should have to do less work then the rest of us.

Of course they don't show whether you're a reliable work and can handle teamwork. They aren't supposed to. That's not even close to being the point of them. The tests aren't supposed to get you a job, they're supposed to show that you're intellectually capable to handle college work, which that stuff has nothing to do with.

i'm putting off taking my ACTs/SATs and such until laterish this fall. i'm preparing as much as possible, though. i even switched a credit class to Prep, which is basically where every other class period we have a fake ACT, SAT, Plan...you name it. we just do whatever we can on one test, then the next day we'll go over some random questions, then continue the test we started before. it's pretty stimulating.
on my actual real tests, i'd like to get:
ACT or Plan-minimum 23 composite, and at least 24 mathematics.
SAT-minimum 1060 total and 560 mathematics
PSAT-minimum of selection index of 185 and a mathematics score of 70
