QUOTE That's because Tucker is among more than 3.3 million high school graduates this year -- one of the largest classes in U.S. history, according to the U.S. Department of Education. With such a bumper crop of high school seniors from which to choose, top-tier colleges and universities are ultra-picky as they select next year's freshman. this is going to suck. |

LOL I'm not rly sad. xD Just..ugh, waiting for this whole application thing to be ovar with nowwwwwwwwwwww. And honestly, with the acceptance rates last year hitting an all-time low, I'm not surprised by that quote.
And yeah, I'm applying to both! SCU is my reach. Far, far reach. Are you applying there? |

ah well, i thought that since they accepted less people last year, there would be a bump increase for us? damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate this.
oooh if you apply for SCU early action, there's a 75% acceptance rate! :) and eh, i dont know if i'll be applying there either. REALLY REALLY big reach for me too. |

Last week my Sociology teacher decided to spend time talking about we'll never get a place and have a secure future and we won't get into college because thousands of others will be going for the same spot. Oh, it was big morale boost!

Oh, it was big morale boost! Actually, I was suprised at how well the speech from my History teacher about applying to 7-10 schools is the right thing to do. That's a shitload of application fees, man. |

Blah. 2007 sucked balls. It was the first time that colleges had such a HUGE group. 2006 got it lucky because they were really nice that year. They say college acceptances are like Sin curves. Odd years is bad and even years is good. But then, I don't know how that works when 2008 has such a hugeeeeeee group of students. Just keep in mind. If you plan on continuing your education for graduate school/med school/architecture/law/etc, if you go to at least a second tier school, you'll do fine. Undergrad doesn't matter too much as long as you can get a good education to follow through to grad school. So don't sweat. |
