It's deffinately something that you need to really think about before you get it done, more so than wrist tattoos. Some jobs will want you to cover it up and some of them can be hard to cover up. Plus, it's going to be something that everyone will see (unless you're wearing a turtle neck or something).

I am getting a tattoo behind my ear and on the middle back of my neck. I think they're cute depending on what they are.

Ouch mellow.gif

They can be cute, but you do need think about it.. it'd be a lot harder to cover up if you ever needed too. If you get one near the bottom of your neck though, you should be fine

It depends what it is and how big etc...but yeah, the thing is with that spot is it is hard to cover up if you ever need to, but if you're really sure then yeah it can look good. _smile.gif

i dont really like them on girls, but sometimes the right neck tattoo can be pulled off by a girl.

I think foot tattoos are REALLY cute. I got a swallow on each foot, and I LOVE them. My favorite tattoos by far.

^I heard that's the place where it hurts the most to get it. Because of all the tendons and stuff.

I think they look better on guys than women, but if you like it go for it. And then again it does also depend on how big it is. like the people said above me. You can probably use a lot of foundation to cover it up, but it'd probably be slightly visible.

Girls with neck tattoos looks funny. Probably because how delicate their neck looks like. lol. I think guys who have it look cooler, i know someone who does. I don't like neck tattoos in general but my friend has one, and it looks cool. Neck tattoos are painful. =X

Those are the only two spots I would consider getting a tattoo. I really like the back of the neck.

However, I probablly wouldn't get a tattoo.

i'm opposed to certain neck tattoos.

where i am from, neck tattoos of somebody's name is extremely common... and extremely ghetto.
i think that name tattoos are just completely tasteless... and to put it on a place that you can only cover up with a turtle neck seems even more pointless.

but stars, kanji, hearts, or a little lizard, i think would be cute... but just make sure that in 10 years you're going to still want it.

god i sound like my mom...

Yeah. Don't get a name. I hate when people get their own name tattooed on them, or the name of a boyfriend/girlfriend.
It looks trashy.

Not a good idea. Plan out your sleeve, or whatever.
My boyfriend got random shit and he regrets it now.

I don't know how it would be in the professional world. I think some are nice looking, but they're very visible.
I like mine, which is on my hip, because it's easily hidden.

the problem, even with planning your tattoo, is that yeah, you may absolutely LOVE it right now. you may just ADORE it in 2 years....
but who's to say that in 5 or 10 years, your tastes may have significantly changed.... and all of a sudden that tattoo that you spent forever planning on... doesn't fit you anymore.

that's a risk you HAVE to take.

but yeah, don't ever get somebody's name tattooed on you unless it's your parents or your children.

I concur. But, I also think it's cool to get your siblings name(s).

I also hate fad tattoos. A while ago it was the barbed wire armband for guys, the tattoo around the bellybutton, the chinese symbol things, tribal, tramp stamps.
They don't say much about the wearer.

i have symbols on my arm.
i don't REGRET the tattoo, but i do wish i would have thought a bit more about it rather than "omgz i'm so mad i need ink".

i DID however, go and study for the word "Vanity".
at least it's not a fad word like "dream" or "love" or "hope". it's a word that means something to me. my mom used to tease me about being "vain enough to get it in another language, but not vain enough to get it done in english".

i've seen neck tattoos that are just absolutely workable on that person... and i've seen others where i just want to scream "WHY????" to that person.

and yes, the business world is something you need to consider for the future.
i mean, hell, right now, you're fine and dandy where your'e at, but what if in 5 years you decide to go into some type of real estate or something.

makeup doesn't cover hickeys very well, how're you gonna cover up INK?
