Yeah, I really like Mandy Moore's version.

But I'm not sure what song that I've heard was VERY VERY good.

I just know I like..
Beautiful girls - Jojo (despite the lyrics since I'm a guy -- it's just the tone of her voice sounds good with the beat)

& Time After Time - Quietdrive.

Not sure if it's the best I've heard EVER EVER. lol.

One that lots of cbers probably don't know, but that Static-X cover of Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment by the The Ramones.

That or when Local H covered Britney Spears' Toxic.

I was JUST going to write that. LOVE this cover. Soooo good.

& Mandy Moore's version PWNS Rihanna's. But I love how in the video they're playing the Rihanna video while MM is singing.

ohmy.gif I didn't know she covered it!

*YouTubes*

Awwwwwwwww! throb.gif Tonsssss better, and Mandy has gotten so much more soulful. But dang, the close-ups aren't very flattering. sad.gif

ANYWAY. I might as well consider Johnny Cash's "Hurt" to be the original.

Whaaat? I didn't know Mandy covered Umbrella! I'm going to have to go find that.

I have a lot of favorite covers, here are some:
Jolene by The White Stripes
Head over heels by Kids in the Way
Feeling Good by Muse
Dream Scream by Death Cab for Cutie
They Can't Take That Away by Becky Filip

And others, I'll edit later or something. haha

Oh, I almost forgot about Deadstar Assembly's rendition of Real Life's "Send Me An Angel." Additionally, I just found this, which is an amazing cover of Explosions in the Sky's "Your Hand in Mine." Anberlin's "Uncanny" cover is great, as well.

"Take My Breath Away" by Copeland is rather nice... I'm not sure who the original song is by, but it's one of those songs I remember hearing as a kid in the car.

"Let Go" by Boys Like Girls.
It sounds so much like Imogen Heap.
Probably because Martin can sing so high.

But I also LOVE the "Umbrella" covers by Gerard Way and Marie Digby.

Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" (originally by Tears for Fears) is gorgeous.

"Black Magic Woman" was originally done by Fleetwood Mac, but Santana made it famous for a damn good reason (it's much better than the original).

Aretha Franklin's version of "Respect" is a classic (also for good reason), but I also like the Otis Redding original.

I'm sure there's much more.

I absolutely love Death From Above 1979's cover of Bloc Party's Luno. I also like these covers (original artist in brackets):

Bigmouth Strikes Again - Placebo (The Smiths)
Penelope - PlayRadioPlay! (Pinback)
Darling Nikki - Foo Fighters (Prince)
Naïve - Lily Allen (The Kooks)
Especially For You - MYMP (Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan)
Only Hope - Mandy Moore (Switchfoot)
Let Go - A Static Lullaby (Frou Frou)
Roxanne - Fall Out Boy (The Police)
Better Off Dead - Death From Above 1979 (La Peste)
Running Up That Hill - Placebo (Kate Bush)

Ooooh I want to hear the Lily Allen cover.
And that version of "Let Go" is really good too, but Boys Like Girls's is still better.

I'm gonna bump this so I don't get yelled at for making a new one, haha.

Scott Simon's Umbrella has got to be the best version I've ever heard:

And of course the beautiful Camile Velasco's cover of No One:

I'm really liking Adele's version of 'Last Nite' by The Strokes at the moment. Nicely different from the original, methinks.
