Does CB want me to leave? I've finally decided to be active on the forums and I'm forced to deal with the longest load times I've ever had to deal with. I really... really.. really.. want to post more, but it's hard if it takes 3,4,6 sometimes, even 8 tries to get from one page to another. Most of the time, I get a screen saying that the connection timed out. Hell, I have a CB icon on my bookmarks toolbar JUST so I can spam click that when CB decides I can't check my PMs. What's going on?

Note:
- I don't have a problem browsing in other sites that have much more users online than CB.
- Older CB versions never gave me this problem.
- If your solution is for me to try the Lite version, well that's slow as hell too.
- Yes, it took me 4 refreshes and I actually had to restart FF a couple of times to even post this topic.

I just want to post again sad.gif

- Jose

PS: I've never EVER seen what Attachments the little box underneath this box is loading. Ever. So if there's a mini game down there, I'll be even more pissed. <<

Dude. And I've got a bad connection already. It's usually with the AJAX stuff, like the quick reply/edit, a lot of the time I'll end up having to refresh the page because if the connection times out in the middle of doing something, there's literally nothing I can do on the page until I reload it.

CB doesn't want you to leave. Just stick it out, you'll see. cry.gif

^Completely off topic, are you guys going back out again? xD I have to ask pinch.gif

Oh and I don't know...I don't seem to be having a problem though and the load time is normal for me..I would agree with what Elba said but since it isn't as bad for other sites I'm not to sure. Sorry sad.gif

Digg comment page runs much faster than CB, and has never crashed. They both use AJAX and Digg ( correct me if I'm wrong ) > CB when it comes to traffic. And, apparently, " Digg uses much more scripting than even CB does. "

So, if my computer is somehow responsible for CB running as shitty as it is, then shouldn't Digg run worse?

Yea I see where your coming from.

I do remember a problem like this happening in the past maybe its just a temporary thing...how long has it been acting like this?

When did this new version come out? Back then, I didn't really mind. I thought it was just because it's a new version of CB so there's going to be bugs. PLUS I didn't really post much then so it never really became a troublesome. Now, it's like.. unbearable most of the time.

I think it's been like this since he's come back, actually. sad.gif

It's been pretty bad for me, too, though.

How was she rude? blink.gif

And I'm not sure, like I said I don't seem to have a problem...I'm sorry you seem to be having it though. If it hasn't been to long for it being like this, wait it out and if it has maybe PM Jusun and ask him about it to get a quicker response from him or wait for him to actually see this topic to reply. What ever it is, once he finds out about it I'm sure he'll be quick to try and fix it.

cB does that sometimes too. I think it might be FF, I know you said other sites work, and that is the same with me. Sometimes FF just.. doesn't like cB, I guess.
When it does that, I usually open another internet browser (Safari). Have you tried that? maybe try using IE or something?

Yeah, try another browser maybe, although I assume you have enough initiative to have tried that yourself...

I really don't know what to tell you. A similar thing used to happen to me a LONG time ago (like, cB2 time ago), whereby certain actions on cB would cause my internet to shut down entirely. REALLY tiresome.

I can't remember what it was that did it, but try and look for a common theme when it is happening, and maybe go from there? I THINK mine got better when I disabled smilies, randomly enough.

But again, I have no idea how similar those situations could be.
