I have a fear of flying in airplanes!

Have you ever had an emergency in one? If so, do tell what happened to fuel my fear!!!

Today, while about to leave for Orlando, our airplane's right engine sensor was messing up, so when we took off, we had to LAND AGAIN! So scary T_T

Haha, I sleep on planes, or read. Only time I pay attention to anything is on takeoff and landing. I love going fast on pavement haha.

I don't trust new drivers, i.e. my brother. Michelle, that's not @ you, you're fine :)

I've traveled by plane a dozen times, and the only thing i ever got was Turbulence?? It goes up and down because of lack of air or something, nothing to worry about though.
You shouldnt be scared of planes, traveling by car is more dangerous, i read that somewhere xD

I'm afraid of height but for some reason when I look out of an airplane I feel at ease. I guess because they don't just like go straight down when we land. wacko.gif

Nope, I've never had any bad experiences on airplanes. Only the long ride to Dublin, but it was just long. Nothing bad happened.
Well, just turbulence. But that isn't bad, and its pretty normal.

Heh, I've ridden on planes quite a bit.

Yeah, there's turbulence, but it's like a roller coaster ride, except I guess more fear inducing for some of you. wink.gif Besides that though, there was an emergency, but it wasn't because the plane was screwing up. It was because some passenger had real bad health problems like their heart was about to explode or something and they were making announcements asking if there was a doctor on board and stuff like that. Attendants running around. I felt like I was in an episode of House. whistling.gif

Wow, that must have been pretty chaotic.

I have flyed on planes since I was pratcly born. I have never had an emergency happen on a plane that I was in. The worst thing is probably turblence and the stinky smell of the bathroom >.<

My choir was leaving for Florida, and when we took off I guess the pilot noticed there wasn't enough fuel or whatever, cus we had to land again to put in more fuel so the plane wouldn't die halfway across America. Oh, the comfort.

Ha ha word. It's the same air being circulated; great way for disease to be spread...

Yeah, sitting near the back is pretty bad because you're right next to the bathroom. Especially during long flights.

I love flying on planes.

But one time during the landing, the pilot touched down on the runway the wrong way so the plane kind of teetered from side to side for a couple of seconds. It scared me at the time... I think I was 5.

I was taking a domestic flight in India so we were flying pretty low. A bird hit the right wing and it sounded like a loud pop as though something had gone wrong with the plane. My seat was behind the right wing and I could see a metal flap thing moving up and down with the wind and there were sparks coming out as well. I don't know if that and the bird are related because it was flapping before the bird hit the plane but the sparks came after. It was dangerous to land the place after an accident but thankfully, everyone was safe. It was really scary at first but this man sitting next to me was so calm and talking calmly that I relaxed a bit.

On the way to the Philippines, our flight stopped at Guam to refuel.
Right after take off, the flight attendants were serving our breakfast when the plane shook violently. The flight attendants ran to their stations and hooked themselves up.
It was followed by lots of shaking and I guess dipping and rising.

Flying through a storm FTW!

There was a really smelly guy behind us on a plane once. My mom told the flight attendant that he was tainting our air and he got moved to the back.

I think that's the worst thing that has ever happened to me on a plane. laugh.gif

I've never been on a plane, so I guess I have that little fear of the unknown. I'm not going to be afraid when I fly, just nervous, because I won't know what to expect.

All of the flights I've ever been on have always gone smoothly. I love flying, but I hate the food on the cross-atlantic flights! It's smell combined with the already yucky smell of the air always makes me sick. sad.gif

There's never been any real emergencies whenever I flew on a plane, and I've been on quite a few flights.

I remember once though, I got kind of scared when we had a lot of turbulence during a flight to Italy a few summers ago. We were flying across the Atlantic Ocean, and the idea of crashing into the waters scared me. pinch.gif
