I have this DVD player on my computer that has the feature of being able to capture images from whatever DVD I'm playing. One problem; it's always grainy. I don't think there's a way to adjust the settings on the capture quality, so, any suggestions on how to better the quality?
Some of them are okay (not brilliant quality), but then some I just don't know what to do with them! Sample one Sample two Sample three Here are some examples. These are from things from the 70's, so I don't expect it to be great quality footage...but the pictures are always so much worse! Please help, and sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for help. |

Stop saving them as .bmp's for one. But because the footage is from the 70's...it's such raw footage that the words "high definition" would never have come into play.
What program is it that you use? |

It's called WINDVD. But even with newer movies it still wins up grainy. Also, it doesn't allow me to save it as anything but .bmp, I can only convert it afterwards. |

Well, I don't know, but I suggest resizing them for one. I also use GOMplayer to capture my vids. :D

And you're sure there aren't any video settings...there usually are... I've checked a number of times. Unless they're hidden in some really weird place...I've looked in the Read-Me but I couldn't find anything. I'll just keep experimenting and see what I can come up with. Thanks :) |

^ I used the print screen button before, doesn't work (for me) on Windows Media Player. If I tried to use the picture, I'd get a black box instead.

The videos I usually watch are much smaller, but the screen captures are identical to the video. No graininess. |
