Use the pen tool or the magnetic lasso tool to make the stripes. Fill each one with different colors. Then I guess you just decorate and make patterns around it. blink.gif

You could use the line tool with a large width (try 100px). If you want a cone type shape, you could use the polygon lasso tool to create the shapes. In either case, you can can fill each shape with a color or a pattern by tweaking the layer's blending options. I can give you screenshots if you're having trouble. Each also has a stroke (or a border) which can also be done with blending options.

On the document, create a new layer.

Use the line tool to create the basic shape:

Use these settings in the toolbar:

With that layer highlighted, click the little button with the layer "f" to go to the Blending Options.

Adding a stroke/border:

Adding a pattern in the shape:

Making the shape with the lasso tool:

Make a new layer. Click a point on the canvas and without holding the left-click button down, drag the mouse and you'll see a line form. Make a shape similar to this:

Right-click on the canvas to fill in the selection (so that you can add the effects):

A dialog window comes up so pick your color.

Or using the pen tool:

Create new layer and use these settings:

Click on the canvas four times in the shape you want. To close the path (what you create from using the pen tool), click the first point you made. As the cursor hovers over it, you should see the pen tool symbol with a circle with it.
