Ok so the end of this month my guy and his family are moving to Canada
We've been great mates for over a year now. And been going out 3 months

When we first started going out I thought we'd end it when he left but now we're completely in love with each other

I really dunno what to do, I think he's planning that we stay together and after we both finish uni he'll pay for me to go over there with him

I don't wanna finish thing but I dunno if I can cope with such a long distance between us

Help please

that sucks for you. all you can really do is wait it out to see how things work. my boyfriend and I were dating for a little over a year and he went into rehab [almost two hours away]. now I barely get to see him. we write letters & we talk on the phone once a week. and every now and then I go with his family to see him. if you two are meant to be together, things will work out.

The same exact thing happened to my friend.

Umm...they ended up breaking up since he was moving. But they missed each other too much and decided to get back together.

All in all, it's up to you. I've tried the whole long distance thing, granted not as far as Canada like you and my best friend have, and it's turned out well.

I guess it just depends on how much you like/love him and whether or not you'll let the distance affect your guys' relationship.

If you trust him...then why not?

Oh and shouldn't this be in Relationships not Girls forum?

How much longer til university is over? Will you be able to visit regularly?

It makes it much easier if you have a goal (and little short term ones) that you can achieve together along the way...

It's tough but I hope you guys can do it. I know how it feels, to some extent (my boyfriend goes to school on the other side of the country).

Read this, it's a guide to long distance relationships. If want to continue your relationship, check it out:

Also, I have been in a long distance relationship for nearly 2 years now. It' snot so bad, but I can see where it would suck from your point of view, because you have been in a regular relationship for some time. Long distance takes some serious time and patience. So, be prepared to work hard.

Thanks to everyone

Found out yesteday they've booked the flight for the 28th

All the advice is great, I've been talking to friends and a lot of them said I should of never got involved in the first place

Tbh I dunno when I'll next see him, it could be next summer, obvs neither of us know about Canadian schools and I don't even know my dates for college here

Its gunna be tough but I'll see how it goes
