I have a "friend" who I've begun to talk to more over the last two weeks and this was our conversation today.

he: Can I tell you something?
me: Sure.
he: See, I kind of like you, and that's why I keep asking what's the matter.
me: *quiet*
he: *keeps talking*
me: *not listening*

Okay. I'm not going to open the topic of what was wrong with me today, but with him; He said after he doesn't like seeing people he likes hurt. So does he like like me or just like me? I'd find it really rude if it was the latter, honestly. Since he said he "kind of" likes me. That's like saying you just like wasting my time talking to me even though you don't care much for me. But anyway, if he does mean the first, should I give it a try? I know I'm not ready, and I'm not even all that into him. But I have been craving a relationship for a very, very long time. I just don't know anymore.

You said yourself that you're not ready. So why do it?
If you're not all that into him, then the relationship will probably be an unhealthy one.
I know the feeling of craving a relationship - I've had that for years.

But don't go out with somebody you don't absolutely like just so you can have a boyfriend.

Your friend probably likes you likes you, but the fact that he kept on talking indicates that he's not comfortable to talk to you about it yet.

^I agree except with the last part..

I mean I can see where it would...but she didn't really help the situation either. She quit talking to him and then just ignored him from the sounds of it.

You don't like him, and it seems like your to scared to even ask him for the truth on if he really likes or just as a friend. Even if he does like you only as a friend, it doesn't mean hes there wasting your time either he just cares enough to try and cheer you up.

Move on though, don't get in relationships unless your ready and really like the guy because if not your not going to be the one hurt in the end.

Sounds like he's just trying to be subtle about it. The "kind of" part of the sentence probably doesn't mean anything other than "I'm just trying to easy to payload of telling this girl I like her just in case she give me the cold shoulder for it."

Look, if you're not ready. You're not ready. Don't waste anyone's time. Just tell him how you feel about it.
