I have a myspace that I post my layouts... and well I've noticed that most people that post layouts on their myspace use <textarea> but when I use it it messes up my codes(the comment boxes), and so I tried uploading the code in Notepad to Fileden.com and pasting the link on my page. Now it works for some people, but other people the code turns the page into a preview or something... so clearly Notepad is not the best choice. Does anyone know the best way?? I'm soooo open right now to ideas.

The code messes up becuase some where in the comment box code, there is a </textarea> What you can try to do, it make two textareas and tell the people they MUST post the two codes RIGHT next to eachother without spacing.

It is the </textarea> in the comment box code. I suppose replacing these things <> is a good idea but is there another way besides posting in a textbox? I thought I had a good idea with the notepad because it's SUPPOSEDLY universal but I don't understand why it's not working.

yeah, thats odd. I post all my layouts on a word pad, because frankly, text areas do not work with divs. At all mellow.gif Haha. I recommend uploading your files to another type of file hosting site, besides fileden. Why? If your site starts to get bigger, you might exceed your bandwidth. And I've encountered this tremendously. I recommend a site where there is no need for registration thumbsup.gif

Well the bandwidth isn't the problem the least bit, it is the notepad urls. I see how you do yours though that can be a problem for some people because I actually KNOW people too stupid to know how to turn off an ad blocker... LOL

Haha. Well, I havent had any complaints from people of getting codes that arent working, so maybe it could be a current problem in the fileden hosting?

Ahh, I see. But if this continues to happen, why not just have people d/l the file to their computer, or try finding another host thumbsup.gif

No the notepad url I posted earlier I had changed the format of the notepad... the one I just posted is like the ones for my codes in my blogs for users. I was experimenting with maybe it was the way I saved my notepad but it didn't show up like that in my notepad... WIth all the question marks.
Anywho, what do you guys see?

LOL no the ?'s were the first code I posted by mistake... Let's forget that because that isn't the problem _unsure.gif
Yeah that's how I see the code too and most people but for some reason some of the people are seeing my notepad page with the background and not much else and one person has told me that they right clicked page source and got the code but I can't test to see if that's 100% because the notepad shows up on my computers correctly. Can anyone here click the link and it show up wrong so maybe someone will know how to fix it?

^For google documents, just go here:
http://documents.google.com

I recommend them because I use them myself.
