Your blending skills are impeccable. I love the Kelly Clarkson Blend, along with the icons. What font did you use for the text that says "Kelly Clarkson"?

REally nice blends. I think it's a bit over-contrasted/over-sharpened though. The kelly clarkson one looks great but a bit grainy..? I also think your beginner icons look awesome. _smile.gif

For the Angelina retouching, do you notice those darker splotches underneath her eyes? They make her look like parts of her face is bruised. Other than that, your retouches are good, but I think you can tone it down a bit.

All looks good to me, I've never even tried making blends or icons before but for your first bash I think they're quite impressive.

And why is it that when someone has an inflated post count their ego also outgrows their own brain?

If you're going to give negative criticism at least share from your "obviously" massive pool of wisdom as to how it could be done better or how they went wrong, or just stop with the cheeky comments.

You wouldn't speak like that if they were standing right next to you so don't say it at all.

Actually I would. I do it to the interns and other people that work under me at work all the time. They take it because they know I know what I'm talking about.

I didnt insult her, outright. I told her she shouldnt retouch photos that have already been retouched. that's redundant, and it gets way overdone.

Well I think you should seriously reevaluate your outlook. You probably talk down to the less experienced because it was the same for you, a fairly unscrupulous path no?

Why should your interns "take it"? Grow a spine and some respect for your peers.

I hope your interns turn around one day and smack you upside the head, I sure as hell would.

Me grow a spine? LOL.

I didnt say anything insulting to her. I told her the truth. DONT RETOUCH PHOTOS THAT ARE ALREADY RETOUCHED. WOW. I CAN SEE HOW SHE'S OFFENDED.

If you would seriously get bent out of shape over a comment like that, it's you that needs to grow a spine.

My interns take it because yknow what? I dont just say random shit to people for no purpose. It makes them better in the end.

Tough love.

I didn't claim to know you and I'm rather glad I don't.

You keep reffering to your second comment as if your first does not exist; "since when is the objective for retouching supposed to be to make them look like drag queens?".

This is neither constructive or advisory, only negative and without any purpose other than to belittle those that you see as "under" yourself.

What you call "tough love", I call self-righteous disparagement.

EDIT: Apologies Wendilicious, for hijacking your thread with off-topic posts, I thought something should be said.

That's a legitimate question and a legitimate critique. Dont post in this forum expecting only to get praise and watered down criticism.

Exclaiming that someone's work resembles a drag queen is not legitimate critique from any perspective other than a deranged one.

You are out of line and you know it, sour-faced people like yourself always get their karma usually in the form of not having any friends left.

At least, for a second, let yourself think about it and try to be a little less...shit.

There is no reason to keep going back and fourth on this. But really people have to critique people sometimes so they can get better. Too many times around here all we get are easy-peasy sugar coated comments. She asked for retouching, I don't really see were a "sour attitude" came in. Its just criticism. No reason to argue or get mad over it.

People just have to take it. If you're going to post on an online forum where... MANY other people can post... you need to be ready to handle anything. (Not like it was bad in the first place)

Little side note coming from someone who knows her in real life:

1. Trish does tell people in real life how it is.
2. Trish does have friends and they are both cooler and more intelligent than yours.
3. How can you criticize her criticism when you clearly and obviously stated that you have no experience in this area?

Yknow what? Fine I'll admit I'm a bitch. But my critism for the most part ends up helping people in the end. If you have no experience in this area, I don't see how you can be on my case.

You asked how I could be so negative and then not offer anything constructive to help her along.

I believe I did. I told her not to retouch photos that have been retouched already. That's really the only criticm I can give her. Aside from that, I think my drag queen statement pretty much tells her to pull it back already.

How would you know what's constructive or not in this area anyway? No one else in this thread seems to disagree with my approach.

The fact that I have never made a blend is completely irrelevant and on your part, a transparent scapegoat.

The subject matter, albeit off topic, is the apparent and evident general manner in which you publicly denounce and belittle other people's hard work. I fail to see how my blending skills or lack thereof have anything to do with it.

If you are genuinely trying to help people with such comments, which I hope is the case, then that's a good thing but at least consider your attitude and approach.

It has been proved time and again throughout numerous educational institutions that positive reinforcement yields far greater results than negative.

It was not my intention to start an argument, just to point out that your behaviour is destructive, not the best persona to embrace in such a wonderfully creative environment.

You say "No one else in this thread seems to disagree with my approach.", I would say the opposite was fairly obvious:

QUOTE("AmandaChaosTM")

QUOTE("Wendelicious")

QUOTE("sourire")

Aswell as this, every single other comment in this thread, save two, are positive and constructive.

Of course not that you let mass opinion affect the way in which you treat other human beings.

And finally, if you actually admit to being a bitch is it completely beyond you to admit that your behaviour, although in the best interest of who you are trying to help, may be at fault?

the blends do look low quality. the layer modes you used were way too harsh on the KBell blend, and I think it's just the texture that makes the Kelly Clarkson one look low qual.

the icons are nice, especially the second batch.
