Basically - I am 17 years old, I've been getting my period since I was 12. It's never been normal. I haven't had my period in almost 7 weeks. It's starting to annoy me. I know for a fact that I am not pregnant since I haven't done anything since May. My mom doesn't listen to me when I tell her my period is irregular so what am I supposed to do? Plus I'm afraid to tell her I haven't had it in 7 weeks because she'll automatically think I'm pregnant. & to make matters worse - the gynecologist won't see me until I'm 18, it's not like I can go there.

Usually irregular periods are a sign of malnutrition.
Not like third-world country malnutrition, but like maybe your body is lacking a certain kind of vitamin or substance etc.

I get irregular periods, too. I'm skinny [not in a good way] and I've had my periods since I was 10. I didn't get mine this month.

yeah - I weigh 110 [ I don't know the normal weight for my age ] ... I've also lost 10 pounds in the last two months. My mom always tells me to take iron pills but I don't. [could the lack of iron be my problem?]

- Oh by the way, I told my mom and the first thing out of her mouth was "You better not be pregnant". Ha.

You don't have to go to a gynecologist to get a vag exam, and you can even ask for a pap smear sense you are sexually active.

Just saying. whistling.gif

I'm not sure if this will work, but you can try calling Planned Parenthood... I mean, they do help out girls with those kind of issues, like birth control. I do know that birth control is one way of regulating your period.

Yeah - I've talked to my mom about that but she won't let me get it for some reason.

there's numerous reasons as to why u have an irregular cycle. u could be lacking certain vitamins, have poor eating habits, a lot of stress, or quick weight loss/gain. also if u consume an excessive amount of carbohydrates u should cut back. iron is really important. u should get ur iron checked to see if it's low, and if u are, start taking those iron pills; they could start to regulate ur period.

I thought Planned Parenthood was anonymous and you don't need parental consent for that.

My periods have become irregular too. They say I've gotten thinner and whatnot and I'm always hungry but for some reason never up to eating. I suppose I should get back into a healthy diet

Well, that explains alot. I have poor eating habits, though I try hard to eat healthy, I have been stressed since my boyfriend's been gone, I've lost 10 pounds in 2 months .. I'll ask my mom about getting my iron checked.

Don't you still need money? Hah - I don't have that.
