Well, in fall, I will be a high school sophmore, and I'm going to be taking AP Chemistry. I am really worried about it, because I heard it was really hard. And I also hear that the teacher makes things way confusing when he teaches... And I think it was a bad choice for me to take AP Chemistry next year since I haven't taken Alg. 2 yet, and in freshman year I took Biology, so I have no experience with anything chemistry-related. I just want people's opinions on this class, thanks.

Bad idea. AP Chem is really easy at my school only cause Honors Chem killed everyone and is harder than the AP course. You should have some sort of basic understanding of chem before you jump in like that.

The math thing shouldn't be a problem though.

f**k what he teaches.

What’s important is what you learn from the book. It’s convenient.

People are going to ask you, “How did you ace this test! I don’t understand him”

You tell their dumbasses that “it’s all from the textbook, tutoring, asking the right person, and rereading it”.

trust me. every teacher should know the AP CHEM. teacher. i'm sure they'll understand you and should be willing to help you or refer you.

If you took AP Biology and did well, you should be fine. Although AP Chemistry is different, it's still a science class. Of course, it will be hard, 'cause it's an AP class. If you make decent grades in other AP classes, just study hard and do your homework.

This should be moved to school stuffzz.

Heres what I think about AP classes. I took AP chemistry this year. I worked my ass off, almost two hours every night. I apply for a college. I get my results, and I ask my friend what were her results. We both got the same answer. The thing is, she's taking normal chemistry. So, I wonder, what is the point of taking and AP classes, if you're just going to get into the same college as those that didnt take AP and honor classes? I really think its a big waste of time. We both have 3.80 gpa's and higher, so I really think taking AP classes is pointless.

PAP CHEM I was a breeze for me.
the teacher was fun, the class a bit rowdy but it was easy peazy. finished the year with a 93 average. :]

but i'm taking AP CHEM II this coming year and i'm really effing scared. alot of my friends took it this past year and the teacher works you to the bone. & other than the large amount of work, the work is HARD. so, i'm kinda worried, too. _unsure.gif

eeeek! you're going from nothing to ap chem?!

:O

GET OUT !!

Thanks so much, I feel better. I decided that I'm just going to try it out, and I have many close friends taking with me that are in the same situation as me. So we're going to help each other out and ask the teacher if we need help and everything. I did really well in Biology, but I haven't taken any AP courses yet, so I have no real experience. But I'm going to try.

I'm going to be a sophomore this fall and I'm taking Ap Chem too. Because the course is so long and rigorous, our school separates 1/3 of the course for the summer. So I'm at Ap Chem summer school now.
