I didn't know there were specific rings for it. I'm sure if you go through the ceremony it means the same thing?

Are these purity rings a fashion/trend? Or do they really have a meaning behind them? In Hawaii they have purity charms for necklaces and bracelets, but it's not a trendy sort of thing, it's a strong symbolization that people swear by :D |

It's if you still have your virginity right? Anyway Grandpa Dan, you can't get one. You have three kids and two grandchildren. LOL I have a purity charm. And I am a purist, other than the fact I curse and sin but I still ask for forgiveness as soon as I sin, or whenever it's appropriate. And I SHOULD be more humble :P Purist = To walk in the footsteps of Jesus, to be divine, intellectually righteous etc... But there's more to it: A purist is one who desires that a particular item remain true to its essence and free from adulterating or diluting influences. The term may be used in almost any field, and can be applied either to the self or to others. Use of the term may be either pejorative or complimentary, depending on context. Because the appellation depends on subjective notions of what is "pure" as opposed to "adulterating" as applied to any particular item, conflict can arise both as to whether a person so labeled is actually a purist and as to whether that is desirable. |

I don't have a purity ring, but I know some people who do.
It's basically to show people that you're keeping your virginity until marriage, right? And then on your wedding night you take it off and you give it to your husband. I think if you're saving yourself, you don't need rings to symbolize it. Just do it. But that's just my own opinion. Do you have to go through a ceremony to get the ring? |

Do you have to go through a ceremony to get the ring? Well in a sense that's true, it's basically devoting yourself to a form of purity. Whether it be diet, morals/spirituality, etc.... |

Well in a sense that's true, it's basically devoting yourself to a form of purity. Whether it be diet, morals/spirituality, etc.... I see. But purity rings don't really prove anything. I mean, the ring comes off, so it doesn't really prove anything, you know? However, good for you, purity ring wearers. Be proud of your choice! ![]() |
