For those of you with clear skin, how do you maintain it? Or if you wake up with a blemish, what's the quickest way to get rid of it?

For me, it would have to be water. I have tried almost everything on the market, and I usually just end up with a dried out face from all of the chemicals. I've never had really anything more than a zit or two on my face, but H2O has ALWAYS been the best way to get rid of any blemishes or pimples or whatever.

i always had relatively clear skin. very little zits and outbreaks. i just washed my face with water and once in awhile, soap. i also used oxyclean pads which worked well. pimples/zits i had would go away in a day or two. when i was clear, it kept it that way.

do you mean drinking water or only washing your face with water?

my skin is a lot better now than it was 5 years ago. i just attributed that to the fact that i was growing out of the awkward teenage oily skin phase. and i use clean and clear every day :)

I'm the same as you Melissa, I usually only get the occasional zit/blemish but I use Clearasil pads when my face gets oily and some stuff to put right on the zit from Clearasil (some gel stuff) that dries it out faster.

How did I know someone would say that? I'm psychic.

And yeah, I meant drinking tons of water. Washing my face with just water doesn't do anything for me.

*my top secret

before i sleep, i create a tiny hole in my whiteheads with needle mixed with natural tea tree oil after i moisturize.

Drink ALOT OF WATER BEFORE I SLEEP. This will effectively allow water to work better, i believe.

When i wake up, my blemish becomes very dry, hard, dark, and less noticeable. I wash my faces, it naturally slips off.

This process is best at night because you sleep, less active, resting internal organism, and cells are resting and healing strong. They put up less with the environment. When you're outside of your house, your cells, skins, and organs works hard to fight.

I don't really have a secret. I just avoid greasy food, even when I eat some dry/sweet/oily food, I would drink about 2 cups of water to "compensate." I also wash my face often. I don't think I ever gotten any pimples. _smile.gif

thats both disgusting and not healthy. your face needs to rid itself of its natual oils (which is why we have face wash on the market) and soap just ends up drying out the face. it may look good on the outside, but im sure your skin is screaming on the inside.

anyways, if i end up getting anything that looks like a pimple/zit, i use a q-tip, put regular colgate toothpaste on it..then apply directly where its about to flare up. then i seal it shut with one of those small circular bandaids. the next day? it's gone.

and i also exfoliate everytime i shower. i put my face wash on, lather it, then exfoliate with the face wash.

lastly, ive got a acne mark fading peel i use every 3 days.

I only get little blemishes from time to time. Whenever they pop up, my mom lets me borrow this zit cream that she and my brother use on prescription. I just dab a little on it and it's usually gone the next day happy.gif . I also wash my face when I wake up every morning with aveeno foaming cleanser. It's rather fun actually xD.

I use Clear Pore by Neutrogena and Cetaphil lotion.
The Clean Pore is a really good face wash because it gets rid of all the oils and yuck in your pores and skin. You can feel it, too.

Lots of water and don't wear any makeup. Just use toner and you won't need it.

hmm i don't have clear skin, but it's not bad at all.

i just need to start drinking more water again.

oh and keeping your hands off your face helps a lot.
if you have greasy hair, take care of that and don't let it near your face.

my nose is pretty greasy at times.. i don't know why. it's the same for my friend too. i tend to sweat a lot from my nose too. is this the same for anyone else? sometimes i feel like using one of those pads-the small square things girls use to wipe oil off their face. i forgot the name whistling.gif

oh and i'm not sure if that's ^ offtopic but it's somewhat similar.. is it? laugh.gif grease=no clear skin.

I use a facial scrub daily. I wash my face at least twice a day with it. Once in the morning and again right before I go to sleep. Then sometimes a third when I take a shower.

I used to break out extremely easily, then I signed up with my mom's dermatologist and he prescribed me this really good stuff. It's amazing. I put tretinoin gel wherever I have/get acne and sulfacet-r on top. And it works. swear the next day, my skin is waaaay clearer. But yeah..that's with a dermatologist..

I've been struggling with acne since I was like 10... It's finally letting up, though. I think I'm just growing out of an abnormally long stage, but I've been using Pond's cleansing wipes to take off my make-up every night and using this random Got-2-Be scrub in the morning that smells like men's cologne but works pretty well. Oh and I've also been using Neutrogena's Rapid Clear moisturizer which smells really good and feels great on my skin.
