On my way to work today, I passed some guy going like 20 under, was going 38 in a 35, and made a U-turn and my signal stopped prematurely. As I was getting out of my car, a cop speeds up behind me and stops, and asks for license/insurance etc. I'm nervous haha, so he looks around my car and sees a bag that has sugar in it(it had candy in it before I ate it all haha). He asks me if it's cocaine. I say no sir and hand him the bag to examine, he says he's going to take it so I'm like w/e. Anyways, I eventually got a warning, but I was damn nervous haha.

What are some of y'alls close calls/stupid reasons to get ticketed?

why'd you hand him the bag?

he needs suspicion to search your car, including the bag.

Because I was nervous/shaking and he didn't exactly have to search my car to see a bag sitting there. It's got sugar in it, not worried about a cop coming back going "SIR WE FOUND SOME C6H12O6 IN YOUR BAG! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST FOR POSSESSION OF SUGAR!"

so? if you say it's sugar, he can't just take the bag unless he has reason to believe you're lying.

I offered it to him. I'm not worried about him taking something I was going to throw out anyways. I'm not worried about having my rights violated when I offered him the bag.

He saved me from taking it to the trash, no harm no foul on my part.

edit: Oh and yes he can. My nervousness/shaking gave him enough suspicion beyond a reasonable doubt to test the sugar.

Did you mean C12H22O11?

I have never had any encounters with the cops because I can't drive yet and I guess I don't look suspicious for anything. _unsure.gif

I was pulled over for not having my tag yet, 2 months after the due date. He was young, and I flirted, so he didn't do anything [:

Haha... sugaaaaa. Nice one.

Oh really? Then you must mean either glucose or fructose. FYI, C12H22O11 is sucrose (meaning table sugar...). tongue.gif

Which would explain why my major is not in anything chemistry related, or physics for that matter. Business/Psychology minor ftw!

Haha wow, he must have been a sucky cop if he mistook sugar for cocaine.

I don't drive, so I've never been pulled over or ticketed. My only encounter with a cop was for a completely different reason lol

That cop has a bad eye. I've never been pulled over, which is surprising to me, because I speed a lot and tailgate sometimes. After I got my licenses everyone said that within a year I'd have a ticket. I haven't had an encounter with a cop on the road since my mom got a speeding ticket when I was like, 7.

uh...i got pulled over one time because the light around my license plate was burnt out. yeah.

then one time, i was at my cousins and he and a friend were drinking. well, they found out about this party so we decided to go and my cousin thought he was good enough to drive and "knew the way". so we all got into the car, his friend in the passenger seat (it was his car) and i'm in the back seat. we decided to take the 30 pack they were drinking out of with us and a fifth of vodka. at this time, i hadn't been drinking and was just going to wait til the party. turns out the people gave us the wrong directions and we ended up by the airport (about an hour from where we were supposed to be). we thought fine and stopped for gas. when we were there, i went in to use the bathroom and they got gas and then we left. when we pulled out, we saw 2 cops sitting across the street in a vacant lot and kind of watched them as we drove away. all was fine and they didn't follow. we then proceeded to take a turn to get back on the highway in which another cop was sitting around the corner. he quickly started following us though we were doing nothing wrong; my cousin was going the speed limit and wasn't driving all drunk like. we continued on for about 3 miles until he finally pulled us over. we were screwed. he took our licenses and asked where we were going and we told him a party and where. he asked why we were so far out of the way to which we told him we got the wrong directions. he then asked if we'd been drinking. i said no, my cousin said no, and his friend said yes. all was fine and he went to run our licenses. it took about 10 minutes until he finally came back and asked if he could search the car. after that, he asked if we had any weapons, alcohol, or drugs in the car to which his friend said no. (keep in mind his friend was still drinking the whole time we were on the way and had empty beer cans under his seat and he also had a bb gun pistol in which he was randomly shooting out the window). we knew we were screwed and just agreed to it. we got out, stood with the other officer he apparently called for back up, and watched him search. he found the 30 pack in the back of the explorer and the fifth of vodka. he came up and asked why we had lied. no one answered and he asked us again if we'd been drinking. my cousin said he'd stopped 5 hours prior though it was only about 1 or 2, his friend said yes, and i said no. he'd asked if we'd ever been in trouble before. my cousins friend stated that he had gotten an mip about a year ago, though he'd just gotten it the night before. my cousin said he's had a bunch of tickets and that's why he still had an intermediate license, and i said i'd been in no serious trouble. he then nicely said alright, here's your choice. you can pour out the alcohol, pick up the trash and leave, and then his police buddy butted in and said or you can just go to jail. both were nice and we took the first option. i was instructed to drive to where ever we were going. funny thing is, they even gave us directions to the party, but we just went home. another funny thing is...we were all under 21. we got so lucky and were lucky that the police were so nice about it.

wow, that took a while to type, but i had to get it all in there to have the outcome seem good.

One night last summer I was at a house party and some of us decided to go to the park across the street at 1am to play around in the park while drunk and a cop drove by and people were hiding their beers and they told us the park was closed. We didn't get in trouble, we just had to leave. It was amusing though, cause if they'd pulled up 5 minutes earlier they would've seen one of the guys peeing at a tree. rolleyes.gif

I was "Arrested" when i was like 7 for not wearing a helmet but that doesn't count.

The first real time I was arrested was when I was 12 and used to run with a gang and we got caught car jacking and some of us were drinking/smoking
The second time was when I was 13 for a fight. 3rd was when I was 14 for fighting and public disturbing, and 4th when I was 14 for posession of stolen goods and stealing. And when I was 15 for gang affiliation ( but that was under false accusations so it didn't follow through and I was just put on gang watch. )

I'm not even IN a gang, but I'm always mistaken for one or accused of being one. I don't even smoke or drink either, I have a 4.0 and wonderful extra curriculars. (=

Yeah the light thing has happened to a bud of mine. He didn't get it immediately and got pulled over the next night for the same reason, by the same cop. Ticketed.

I've also had the park encounters before. Michelle was in high heels too cuz she had just finished something so when she was walking through the grass the backs kept digging in and the cop thought she was drunk. He just gave us a warning.

I've never got in trouble with the cops yet. I can’t drive.
But I've been with people who got in trouble with the cops.
Well my friend who's 19 was being stupid and was speeding down an alley and slammed on the brakes and as soon as he did that a cop pulled around the corner. He pulled us over and told him that was inappropriate. He's lucky he didn’t get a fine. We had our seatbelts off music blasting and going fast as hell and he just let him off with a warning. Of course we got a 10-minute lecture though. He's also lucky we didn’t get searched we had weed and alcohol. _dry.gif
