my friend said that paint was a good start for him,
and that he made all of his starter divs and crap on there. i believe it is, but it takes patience, joy, and creativity. he made these three items with paint. i wonder what other people think. picture shots of his divs: http://www.zad.new-revolutions.com/images/...pzapzoomdiv.PNG http://www.zad.new-revolutions.com/images/.../msmywaydiv.png http://www.zad.new-revolutions.com/images/...cemyway2div.PNG is it to you? yes or no? =] |

he must have copy/pasted the guitars from some other source in the first one.
but other than that, those arent too bad for Paint. Paint isnt a bad program for people that arent too serious about digital art. But it takes like 20x longer to do something in paint that I would normally just do in Photoshop in 5 minutes. |

it's most certainly not anything great compared to photoshop, but it isn't bad either. that's where i first began when i got interested in making graphics. it just takes extreme patience.

Most people use paint because they don't have an actual design program like Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. It can't really be compared with Photoshop because Photoshop is a more complex program than MS Paint. But I say when starting web-design you should start off in Photoshop because it's the most popular design program and it's easy to use and you can do more in it than paint.

Even if those images are copied like tripvertigo said, those are actually not too bad. It's a good start, if you're a little less experienced with larger design programs like PS. That's where I began, on paint.

i tried to use paint to start. but i don't have enough patience.
plus my dad went to school for graphic arts so we had all the programs anyways. but it's def not a bad start if you take the time to learn how to do it. |

i use paint, not the BEST quality, but it is good to start off with, oh and i know za!d, he's awsome, he also recommends paint. Just make sure you save you pictures as .png because thats the BEST quality your going to get[on paint].

I started out w/ paint and yeah, IMO, it was good. Lot more to do with it than you think. Especially that combined with Microsoft Word (surprisingly) can do you a lottt.
If not, there's something close to a great start - free & better than regular paint + word combined. You got PAINT.NET (google it) and GIMP, which a lot of people prefer. I know Gimp is probably better than paint.net, but it's harder to navigate IMO. |

I use Paint.NET simply because my CD Drive is broken and I havent gotten it fixed yet...
It has the effects and adjustments, and it gets the job done, but i'm just used to paintshop & photoshop |
