yesterday i discovered that i had a very painful "sore" in the "private parts".
 it was all red and swollen. i told my mom and she said that it was probably a risen...whatever that is. so i have two qustions. why do they form and is there any medication, cream, ect. to get rid of it faster? |

well, it's a little bump thing. it's preeeeety painful and feels kind of firm around the edges. when you squeeze it, puss comes out.

it's bigger than a pimple though. and my mom said that she'd had several before and she went to the doctor and he said it was a risen. i don't really care what it's called, i just want to know how to get rid of it.

I couldn't find anything on a "risen"... I used this site to look up symptoms you described; swelling and pain in the genital area. The most plausible conditions on that site caused by those symptoms are genital herpes & cellulitis. Pardon my asking, but are you sexually active? Because if you are, I'd recommend visiting a gynecologist... sounds like it could possibly be an STD. Otherwise, if not, I still think you should visit a doctor anyways. |

Maybe you should ask to see your mom's doctor since he's cured hers. Ask if they're known by another name while you're there, too.
