+ what's your age?
Some teens are just out there looking for fun and trying stuff out. Others, not so much. Some guys are just seeing what girls (or guys, if they're gay) are like and vice versa, while others are actually seriously looking for someone to commit to. I'm 16, and even though I know everything's continually changing now and it's going to change even more in a couple years, I'm always looking for someone who's going to last a lifetime. |

I was just kinda looking to date and see what's out there for a while, til I met my girlfriend. Been with her for quite some time and I would be absolutely ecstatic if we lasted forever.
I'm 18 (almost 19), and shes 17. MyMichelle* |

At eighteen, I can't say that I'm sure what I'm searching for. At the same time, I don't think anybody is every completely sure what they're looking for; they just want to be happy because of someone else. I can honestly say that I am my own person and that I am happy without being with someone--but at the same time, I'm also searching, yearning for something more.
I remember being in high school, believing that each serious relationship would last. I remember how carefree those naive days were. Since then, I've clearly grown and realized that these things don't last forever. So instead, I've been just seeking friendship--true blue friends that last a lifetime; it's just as elusive. I don't mind hooking up, or perhaps even dating around, but it's not what I'm searching for, it's not what I really want. ... /ramble; |

Aww Anna, I know exactly what you mean. Last semester, I wasn't looking for anything too serious, I wanted to have fun and hook up. I just wasn't in a place in my life to be in a relationship. After winter break, I grew tired of the meaningless flings and feeling empty after hooking up. I had been hurt during senior year of high school, and couldn't let myself be happy. I was too scared of being hurt again and was determined not to let one person ever have that much of me again.
When I met Nick, I was immediately drawn to him. Even though there was only little more than a month left of school, I couldn't resist trying it out; I am so happy I did. After the first time we hooked up, I wasn't sure if it was going to go anywhere and wasn't sure if I wanted to even start anything, seeing as we were going home soon. Alas, my heart had a different plan and now I'm in a relationship with him. I don't know where this is going, but I am completely satisfied and happy. He makes me feel beautiful no matter what I'm wearing and how I look. I can wake up next to him, shower with him, fall asleep with him, any and everything and he makes me feel alive. But most importantly, he makes me feel safe again. |

I'm 17. I'm still in high school, senior year. I just broke up with my girlfriend of three years, thinking we'd last forever. I don't really know what I want. I want to move on, knowing that we would not get back together. At the same time, I wish I could get back with her, and hopefully continue to live in bliss with her forever.
I wish I could still believe that each serious relationship would last, but it didn't. And I hate it. I've lost faith in love... for now. |

well, i'll be 15 on june 13th.
and i really don't like hookups and stuff. well, random hookups. like, with strangers. i don't care if you wanna do that with your bf/gf. that's okay, because [hopefully] there's meaning behind it. i'd rather be in an actual relationship. |

I'm 18 right now and in a serious relationship, and it's nice to think it'll last a long time in a perfect world, but at the same time I try not to expect it to but its hard...
It'd be nice if it really went somewhere though. |

I'm 15, turning 16 in a few months.
I'm looking for a guy that's not the 'typical' teenage guy. There's nothing that annoys me more than when all a guy talks about is hott girls and sports. I want to be able to have lots of fun, but still have deep discussions and intelligent conversations about interesting things. I want more than a boring red rose, or a box of chocolate on Christmas (thoughtful presents in other words). A guy that doesn't define hott as a bleached blonde, Hollister, obnoxious girl. I need a guy that I feel a connection with, someone that is more than technically compatible. I don't need commitment necessarily, but someone that's willing to actually have a meaningful relationship (instead of just having one for the sake of it) would be nice. |

I'm turning 17 soon...
Honestly, I know that it's probably impossible at my age but I'm hopeless romantic. I'm constantly watching love filled anime and books in which 2 characters are falling in love. I guess I just want a forever love... one like in the animes and the books. I guess it's not really possible, but I can dream. |

well i would give you this advice, when starting out college, don't be looking for a relationship with anyone because no one wants it! but slowly as the year progressed, hooking up just turned into one huge mistake and you just get sad and lonely. ultimately i believe everyone wants to settle down and be with someone, you just gotta find someone like that! which is why i'm so sad to let go of my ex because he was that one guy in college i found who wanted to be with me and in a relationship! it's gonna be sooo effing hard to find someone else now, especially when the semester begins.
