Wow, Troy High School made #28. But I have to agree that it's a freakin hard school to get into because it's so advanced.

I would search through the list to see if my school made it to the list...my school made it in the 800s range. Haha, I guess my school really sucks.

Troy's a public school, though. I know a lot of people who said that they took the test and were accepted, and that most people were actually accepted. Btw what part of So Cal do you live in?

I live in the East San Gabriel Valley.
I know a couple of friends from Troy (they are like genius-smart) and they paid to take a test to get in. Since they are so smart, they all got accepted.

Shoot, my school didnt even make the list! Perkiomen Valley supposedly the 2nd best school district in the state of PA, but i guess that was awhile ago. One school that I almost went to and my mom worked a(Wissahickon) was #1090. And Allderdice was 1183! That place was so ghetto, my aunt had to transfer to another school so she wouldnt get shot. Thats messed up.

The ranking system is BS, just to let you know.

My school has moved at least 30 spots (+/-) each year for the past couple of years. It now sits at around 150. Two years ago, it was about #50. Honestly, I don't see a difference in the quality of education provided.

It was an "A" school, and supposedly now it's a "C" school.

that list is bullshit. my high school is the best public high school in NYC and it's pretty well known nationwide but it's not on there. people know it's a great school. we got everything - lots of teams/clubs and our school offers a crazy amount of AP classes.

390 HELL YEAH!
PFTTT Stuyvesant isn't even on the list. MWAHAHA!

...

It's still the top public school in NYC. Brooklyn Tech lags a lot behind Stuy.

The list is based on something that doesn't have a lot of substance behind it. It's the # of AP exams taken by the school's students divided by the number of graduating seniors. It says nothing about how the students did nor does it pay attention to which grade took the most. So you can have a school where there were many tests taken but everyone got 2s and 3s or a school with a really smart junior class while the graduating seniors that year were dumb.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18784620/site/newsweek/

NEWSWEEK excluded these high performers from the list of America’s Best High Schools because so many of their students score well above the average on the SAT and ACT.

Stuyvesant H.S.—New York: One of the most competitive public high schools in New York City; average student SAT score is above 1400 (this is reading and math combined. writing is excluded).

I'm sorry. I have a lot of school pride. It's not that I did particularly well nor was I really involved but I'm proud that I went to such a great school. A lot of people may bitch about Stuy being stuck up/conceited/entitled but it's great school with GOOD and BAD people. I could've taken any class I wanted if I had tried hard enough.

I mean, it's the school where the MATH teachers are the most popular.

It doesn't matter really. School is a lot about what you make of it.

^ Nope, it's America's top public high schools.

We went up 50, from 256 to 206.
Wooh.
What I find funny is that the smart high school in our city, Whitney, isn't on there.
Idk if they're private or not though.
