Well, generally speaking a friend is someone you have fun with, can talk to easily, trust, is loyal, honest, etc.

A loose definition of a friend is one you enjoy being around with, talking to, feel comfortable with, etc.

A true friend, though, is one who is all of the above + is always there for you. Oh, and most importantly, you can hold a lot of trust in them; you don't have to worry about them backstabbing you or whatever.

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest walk out.

^oh my goodness. i was going to say the same exact quote. boo you. lol ;)
anyways. yes. a friend is someone who is always going to be there for you no matter what and will go through anything with you and won't blame you for their mistakes and other things of that nature. you also need to remember that in order to have a great friend, you need to be a great friend. :)
