It hurts my brain a lot to think during English class discussions, whether it be on A Tale Of Two Cities or poetry or whatever else. It's hard to analyze but for me it's pretty possible. Soo..are you the kind of person to think beyond literal meanings?

I love a beautiful book that is chalk-full of amazing symbolism and imagery but

Damnit, sometimes I srsly, SRSLY which that English class could be simplified and we can frigging take things at FACE. VALUE.

But uhhhh yeah, no. I'm um, not very good at recognizing symbolism in literature, teachers or other students or SparkNotes have to tell me first, but I have beecome good at double meanings.

Yes, of course. One of my worst qualities is that sometimes I overanalyze EVERYTHING and start getting all these bad thoughts that aren't true most of the time.

Sometimes. Depends on my mindset or mood I guess. *shrug* Sometimes I totally overanalyze while other times I just see whats on the surface.

Oh man sometimes I let my imagination go rampart and I think of a ton of things that end up having nothing to do with the idea the author was trying to convey

I can control it. In AP English Lit., we've got to analyze literature and written works, and I'm pretty good with recognizing the symbolism and meaning behind that now... but when I'm outside of class, I'm not one to dwell on it and get my brain swamped with analyzing the whole freaking world around me.

It'd probably drive you insane.

I love analyzing things to find the deeper meanings. Especially song lyrics and poems.
I tend to over analyze things anyways, so meh....>_>

I can take it to a figurative level, but sometimes I read stuff that's just really far fetched, like using an apple to explain how ignorance is bliss. At that point, I'm thinking the author was just high or something.

Nope I don't understand literature or any thing like that, I think someone has to tell me what it means, like I always ask, what it means :[

Depending on the context, I may or may not try to read further into things than what they seem to suggest at a first glance. My mind is usually found flying around the place, so the most common thing to happen is that I have to force myself to pay attention to what I am actually reading/listening to/watching/etc... .
