Hey everyone,
Im going to a job interview tomorrow for Aeropostale... If you dont know what aeropostale is, its kind of like an american eagle, or abercrombie clothing store. My question is what should I wear to the interview? Do i go with black slacks and a tie, or do I go more casual and use some jeans and a nice button up shirt? I ask because a friend said they may not be looking for how professional you can be, but whether or not you can fit the profile of their employees. Any help or advice would be great |

Well, considering the kind of job you're having an interview for....I'd go for casual. BUT! Make sure that you're still very neat and tidy. Don't look slobby!

First I'd ask anybody I know who has worked there what they've worn for the interview. I'd go for something casual, but not in that worn out flip flops paired with a wrinkled shirt way. You probably want to show that you aren't a complete headcase when it comes to choosing clothes. I haven't got experience in this, but I'd go for a really nice pair of jeans with a nice polo or collared shirt. But make sure you bring a good attitude along to the interview too, because it's not completely about the clothes you wear. |

Hmm. I'd say, wear a nice pair of black slacks. There are ways to dress-up jeans, but personally, I'd go with the slacks, they're general interview clothes. =]

^ Its aeropostale not a job for some top buisness. My friends brother works their and he wore NICE jeans with a NICE button up shirt. Make sure your hair is all neat and tidy and NOT SLOPPY.

For a guy, I think you should wear casual khaki pants, and a button-up collared shirt with an interesting t-shirt underneath. And any clean shoes except for sandals, basketball or skater shoes will probably do. They'd probably like to see whether you'd fit in with their image or not.

^ I agree. Show them you can look nice at the interview so the first impression isn't so bad. Casual may not be enough, but that store may not care anyway. They sell casual things like that. Just whatever you think looks best on you.

Wear Aeropostale clothing or at least their style of clothing. I don't think you need to dress up. Imagine how embarassing it would be if you were all dressed up and no one else was?
When I went to my interview for Hollister, we were told to dress "hollister-like." |

Show up naked, that'll get their attention.

I'd say go with the style of the store. If you have any of their clothing, go with that or something similar.

Congrats on being hired quickly Robbi.
![]() But yeah, sometimes its not the clothes, but it does help. I'm sure they took into consideration you weren't necessarily there for the interview that day. |

if you want to, try wearing some clothes from the store. lol j/k it might look like you're trying too hard.
well someone once told me that "there's no such thing as overdressing for an interview". it's up to you whether you'd like to follow their advice or not. |
