Once again I'm asking for you opinions biggrin.gif I think it's simple but I like it.
I also think I did a good job coding, let me know what you think!

I'm a pretty harsh critic at times so don't take anything offensively like some people out there _smile.gif

Layout wise - It looks really good. _smile.gif I think the organization is nice. I'm not really big on the all caps arial font as the headers But I've never liked it. Oh also I think since the layout is mostly in grey scale maybe the friends would look nice being in grey scale and then when you hover over them they go to their normal look?

Graphics - For starters I don't know if you made the background image or not but it is neat but the splatter brushes look really pixely around the edges and such. Maybe it was the way you saved the image or perhaps you enlarged the brushes to high that they came out that way. The header image with the actual band, I think you need a little more practice cutting out people because the guy on the far right you can see around his head and stuff were it looks like you missed some places cutting him out or you just around the edges are really sharp. Usually when I wasn't that great with cutting out people I use to go to blending options and add a border around then or when I cut them out starting out use a feather brush as the eraser and work slowly. The red streak going through it doesn't look right and doesn't seem like it has a place being there and under the banner for the band name you can see what looks like a shoe? It almost looked like it was just blended there at first until I really looked at the picture and I think its the guy second from the lefts foot? laugh.gif

THE CODING - hah I was looking through your coding and its clean and simple, always a nice way to go about it _smile.gif

I actually used Trebuchet MS as the font, I like it all capitalized biggrin.gif . The headers do look a bit odd though. It's the letter spacing I think. I was thinking of making the friends with greyscale also biggrin.gif although it seemed too much work to do rollovers. Now that I think about it though isn't there a code to make pictures greyscale? I'll try that if someone knows it because I can't think of it off the top of my head.

I did make the background, although I borrowed the crest and made a few tweaks. I see now what you are referring to about the pixels, I didn't notice it when I made it (I was on a laptop then) I'm not that great at cutting out people yet LOL but I'm not sure what you are referring to on the guy, his hair was really spiky. I added a glow around them, I think it made it look a little less sharp. LOL His shoe was already there, I think the red brought it out more.

Here's the original pic BTW

Thanks for the advice about the blending...
Anyone know the grey scale code for pictures?
Anymore advice?

EDIT: The greyscale effect doesn't work in firefox sad.gif

Oh, the original image is awesome I think you should've left it like the original and used those colors in it.
The quality is a little low, and I wish the text on the left was a bit smaller. Its bigger than the font on the right, which is kind of weird.
I like how the navigation spells out "Capricorn", its very clever.

As a whole, I think you could've used a different effect on the image, and better colors.
But its pretty good. happy.gif

Well the greyscale thing is this if you haven't found it:
CODE
<style>img { filter:gray;}
a:link img { filter:gray;}
a:hover img { filter:none;}</style>

and yea they've never worked in firefox, its a down fall but not to many people use firefox, or well people I work with.

I couldn't make a layout look right with those colors in the original _dry.gif
Hopefully I'll get better with blending/extracting images so it won't be as bad!
I thought *capricorn* was cute!
That is true about the size difference in text... I didn't notice that!
Thanks for the help!!

I love Firefox, more people should use it!

Everybody should use Firefox, especially if you're a designer/coder, IE seems to have it's own little web consortium making up random rules for it.

On topic: I like. One thing; typing in the comment box will scroll horizontally, the scroll bar covers up the actual text...
I'd advise only allowing vertical scroll.
