i have a dell laptop and i'm pretty bored of the screen savers that come with it. has anybody ever downloaded a screen saver before? i tried googling "download screensavers" and i found some websites with pretty tacky ones (like aquarium).

more specifically, are there any screen savers for my laptop that i can download that are like the default ones for mac?

thanks in advance!

I've downloaded just a couple before, I think it was a Badtz Maru for Sanrio. XD.gif
Better watch out where you're finding those "tacky" ones, those sites already don't sound legitimate, seeing that they're in popup ads all the time.

do not google wallpapers. They are the #1 way of getting viruses through search engines! =[

A good one is Electric Sheep. Google it.

Have you looked through the Screensavers Section of the Apple website? Those are guaranteed not to be buggy, and there are some pretty cool ones in there on occasion. Takes a bit of looking through to find what you want, though; most of the links are icons.

This site lists the Top Ten OS X Screensavers:
Click. I recommend taking a look at these, some of them are really cool... thumbsup.gif

Oh woops, I misread the part about wanting screensavers like ones on the macs...

I'm not sure if the screensavers are compatible for both Mac and Windows, sorry.

Also, if you are talking about the beautiful mac FLURRY screensaver. The creator imported it for Windows.

YES! wow, you hit it right on the dot. thank you so much!

the only downside is that the screensaver seems to lag a bit. i'm not sure how to change the source/play around with settings to make it faster...

It worked fine for me on windows xp. It will not work on vista.

There are 3 modes you can put it in if you go to the settings window of the screensaver.

yeah, i have windows xp and i tried changing all 3 modes in settings but it still lagged. i googled it and read that it helps if you change the name to flurry.sCr instead of flurry.scr (no idea why that works) but i'm at a loss at how to change it to .sCr. winzip didn't allow me to do that and just typing in .sCr at the end of the name doesn't change the extension.

sigh.
