me and my boyfriend have been arguing this past few weeks. however, i've been depressed since my 17th birthday. it first started on my bday, when my boyfriend did not show up on my very own birthday. since then, we've been arguing a lot and i'm getting more depressed. how worst depression can get when you're in that situation?

to be honest, it depends all on you. It differs with each person. Your Self-Esteem may play a large part in it. I can't tell you how depressed YOU will get...but I've seen other stories, and a lot of them don't end pretty.

Try not to let it get you too down. Get help if it really starts to go downhill. Meanwhile, hang out with people who won't get you down. It'll help. And talk to your boyfriend and tell him how he's been making you feel.

Hang in there, dear. happy.gif

focus on the things that make you happy. don't let just one person bring you down, even if it is someone you care a lot about. you can't allow yourself to get down to the lowest of lows. keep your chin up & spend a lot of time with your friends & try to have the best time with them. mellow.gif

I think you need to let go of the fact that he didn't show up on your birthday. Also, I'm sure your boyfriend's a busy person... or at least, that he's a guy. rolleyes.gif You know how they are; it's just not natural for them to be completely sweet and considerate 24/7, even for "special occasions." - I put that in quotations since I don't really consider anything a special occasion that requires a date or boyfriend. You just have to appreciate what you have and let him know.

If your boyfriend and you are .. just a really strong couple, it's probably just a phase.
Anyway... the worst depression has got for me? I've bruised, cut, and burned myself and I've done these completely STUPID reckless things. Like jumping off the roof of my house because I thought it would be fun. Which was fun. But it's still a bad idea if you're alone and nobody's home.

I have a really sick mind when I'm depressed. There's kind of a pattern for me... I start out drawing lots of pictures with normal writing/drawing utensils on paper, and it gradually turns into sharp objects on skin.

I think burning myself was probably the worst I've ever been at...

Depression because of boyfriend = zombie. That's about it. I don't talk, I don't eat, I don't sleep, I don't work at school or anywhere. All I do is practice a lot of piano and cello and cry. I've never hurt myself directly because of my boyfriend because I know how much it's going to hurt him, and that would just make it worse.

Jeeze... you have lots of problems with him and your friends... you're the author of like every third post or something. Anyways... just talk to him about it but don't get angry or whiny.
